The last time we heard from Doley Bernays, it was on "Prey," the lead single from Bond Place Hotel, his collaborative EP with producers Matthew Burnett and Jordan Evans. Though that project hasn't seen the light of day yet, Bernays has released another new track that won't be on that project, "A Beautiful Stripper."
Beginning with some intriguingly-looped strings, "A Beautiful Stripper" soon adds handclaps, booming bass drums and skittering hi-hats, rhythmically enhancing the melancholy sonics that drive it. Bernays spits about falling in love with a stripper, but T-Pain's celebratory "N Luv Wit A Stripper" this ain't. Having more in common with Frank Ocean's"Pyramids," Doley Bernays' "A Beautiful Stripper" is a bittersweet, unique track.
Damn, I ain't fall in love with a stripper
I fell for a student in the daytime
Swear that girl sweeter than Aaliyah
Nasty as Rihanna when it's play time
