DJ Khaled not only has a hit song on his hands from this summer, but now he wants to spread the love and put a little extra coin into the pockets of fans who bump it on the regular.
First, the track. "Wild Thoughts" is the platinum-certified banger from Khaled's album Grateful, following up his other gigantic hit from earlier this year, "I'm The One." "Thoughts" also boasts a sexy, colorful music video that features Rihanna and Bryson Tiller kicking it with a distinctive Miami backdrop. Directed by Colin Tilley, the visuals have already racked up hundreds of millions of views online and are on their way to becoming forever linked to the incredible summer we've had for hip-hop music this year. However, DJ Khaled is a man known for giving back to his fans and, according to Miami.com, he's doing just that with the "Wild Thoughts" Contest.
The hip-hop mogul is offering $10,000 to the person or persons who can come up with the best 60-second interpretation of the video for his soon-to-be classic track. There are cash prizes for second and third place as well, at $5,000 and $2,500 respectively. The winners will be announced on DJ Khaled's online shopping portal, but there's indication as to when or how this will go down. However, if you're an aspiring video maker who is looking to cash in on your skills, this could be the perfect opportunity to get some widespread recognition with a big name like Khaled's in tow and, perhaps more importantly, walk away more than slightly richer than you were before.
The original video for "Wild Thoughts" has already garnered an MTV Video Music Award nomination for Video of the Year.
