DJ Esco Feat. Future & Young Thug
DJ Esco shared his new project, Project E.T., yesterday, and it follows the formula of past releases like No Sleep and 56 Nights where Future serves as the driving force throughout. Unlike 56 Nights, this one features plenty of guests as well, perhaps most notably, Young Thug, who Future experienced some tension with a few months back.
Future Feat. Drake & 2 Chainz
Project E.T. has officially landed, and it comes packed with otherworldly collaborations. Future had been quiet for some time after overwhelming the game with two consecutive projects to start the year. E.T. is technically Esco's mixtape, but ultimately, it's a compilation of unexpected Future collabs that wouldn't have fit in with his past few -- mostly featureless -- releases. There's a track with Future and Uzi, and another with him and Rich Homie Quan, but the biggest collab on the tape happens to be one with a less surprising lineup.
Yesterday, DJ Esco was the first to hint at the possibility of a new Future mixtape, as he shared this clip via Twitter. The video shows Esco and Metro capturing some rare studio vibes while putting the finishing touches on "Purple Reign," which, as we've come to discover, provides a fitting finale to the mixtape from which it takes its name.
Never Gon Lose
"Never Gon Lose" is one of our favorite tracks off Future's new mixtape 56 Nights. The beat, courtesy of 808 Mafia's Southside, is sultry and perfectly suited for Future's unique style. Future starts the song by yelling "DJ Eskimo City the coolest DJ on the mothafuckin' planet" and then proceeds to get it on with his trademark triplet flow. He gets a nice groove going, and it's pretty surprising when the song ends at the three minute mark. It's easy to imagine Future getting in the zone drunk in the studio and just rapping on this beat for a few hours or more.
How Can I Not [No DJ]
Future Feat. Young Scooter
After receiving DJ Esco and Future's No Sleep mixtape in mid-December, we now have an Esco-free version of the latter's "How Can I Not", which features a guest appearance from Young Scooter and production from Metro Boomin. Stream and/or cop the full tape in our mixtape section. Quotable Lyrics
"Awwsome," the new track from DC's Shy Glizzy showed up on DJ Esco's Future-heavy "No Sleep" mixtape earlier this week, and now it's here in its DJ-free glory. Glizzy spends the majority of the track celebrating his awesome-ness, belting out his words in a half-falsetto a la Young Thug, while incorporating the stuttered flow and repetition of Migos. Quotable lyrics: "Swish, I'm ballin/ I'm so awesome/ Old bitch keep callin'/ She think I'm awesome/ Out here's like a boss/ I'm, I'm so awesome/ I'm so fuckin' awesome"
Future links up with his frequent creative partner, Mike WiLL Made It, for an understated banger (is that possible?) from DJ Esco's brand new No Sleep mixtape.
The Way The Game Goes
DJ Esco Feat. Future, Jim Jones & Young Scooter
DJ Esco enlists Future, Jim Jones and Young Scooter to teach young'ns the ways of the game in the similarly-titled track. DJ Esco is prepping a new mixtape (hosted by Future) No Sleep for December 17th, and this serves as the second leak off the project, following "Day 1." Quotable Lyrics
