Drug Dealers Anonymous
Pusha T Feat. Jay Z
Pusha T revealed that the lead single from his upcoming studio album, King Push, would be made available today, and he's delivered his promise, sharing the Jay Z-assisted track on Tidal this evening. This marks Hov's second guest appearance withing the last two weeks, recently putting down a 16 on Fat Joe and Remy ma's surprise smash, "All The Way Up". "Drug Dealers Anonymous" features a icy, minimal beat from DJ Dahi that sets the two up for some slick wordplay.
What Are We Doing
Race Banyon Feat. Ty Dolla $ign
Red Bull Sound Select always manages to put together some unusually fantastic collaborations, and “What Are We Doing” is no different. The track sees New Zealand singer/producer Race Banyon (who posts most of his music under the moniker Lontalius) collaborating with Ty Dolla $ign and co-producing the track with DJ Dahi.
You may have heard Kali Uchis' "Ridin' Round" on her Por Vida EP earlier in the year, but it didn't sound like this. The Columbian singer's track has been given a major rework by production mastermind DJ Dahi, with the new version serving as her next single. There's already a video planned to drop next week, so it seems like they're going pretty hard with this one.
Oh Me, Oh My!!! (Off The Rip Remix)
DJ Dahi & Sean G
Maybe this isn't true anywhere else outside of NYC, but French Montana has a pretty big hit on his hands with "Off The Rip." Of course, we're not talking about a "Pop That" style smash, but the street record can be heard in club speakers and car windows all summer long, especially in the wake of its co-star (Chinx)'s tragic murder. Today, DJ Dahi and Sean G step in to lend a dope remix to the record.
As the worlds of hip hop and EDM continue their pattern of cross-pollination, the number of producers on either side of the genre gap who have yet to attempt crossovers grows smaller each day. The latest from the rap side of things to share a foray into the more high-octane, sensory-overloading world of big tent electronic music is DJ Dahi, who shares a new instrumental called "DROP."
Little Simz Feat. Tilla
North London native Little Simz possesses an insane lyrical gift for someone of her age (19), and if you're not familiar with her, her new AGE 101: DROP 4 EP is all you need to get acquainted. The closing track on the project, "Mist," features production from DJ Dahi and musical mastermind Frank Dukes and a hook from Simz's frequent collaborator Tilla.
Stand For (Alternate Version)
Ty Dolla $ign
Ty Dolla $ign's first single off his debut album Free TC, "Stand For," successfully merged his ratchet r'n'b sound with a powerful message to stand up for what you believe in. The song is produced by Diplo and DJ Dahi, and the former producer decided to share an alternate version of the track on his Soundcloud. You can hear some of the elements that made the final track here, and perhaps distinguish the contributions DJ Dahi made. The production is a bit more stripped down, with less drums at play. Give it a listen and let us know what you think.
They. Resurrect. Over. New.
Lupe Fiasco Feat. Ab-Soul & Troi
We have two big album releases happening today, Joey Bada$$'s B4.DA.$$ as well as Lupe Fiasco's last LP on Atlantic Tetsuo & Youth.
Lupe Fiasco Feat. Billy Blue, Buk of Psychodrama, Trouble, Trae Tha Truth, Fam-Lay & Glasses Malone
Here we go with one last record from Lupe Fiasco, as we anticipate his new album Tetsuo & Youth officially dropping tomorrow! A few days back Lupe hit us with the premiere of "Murals" and he's back again with "Chopper," a hard-hitting record with production from the talented DJ Dahi.
DJ Dahi has quickly become one of the most sought after producers in the game, contributing to instrumentals such as Kendrick Lamar's "Money Trees", Drake's "Worst Behaviour", and Big Sean's "I Don't Fuck With U". It seems he's even graduated to the big leagues of the pop world, with Madonna calling him in to work on her upcoming album, "Rebel Heart".
Adoration Of The Magi
Lupe Fiasco Feat. Crystal Torres
Lupe Fiasco's upcoming album, Tetsuo & Youth is shaping up to be something special. While it took forever to get a release date, it seems that Lupe succeeded in making no compromises with his new record. The first single from the project paired him with Ty Dolla $ign once again, and proved to be a promising look at things to come.
Madonna (And Other Mothers In The Hood)
Lupe Fiasco Feat. Nikki Jean
Lupe Fiasco's had a rough time getting his record out, but ever since receiving a release date from Atlantic, he's proved that he's making some of his best music in years. "Deliver", a Ty Dolla $ign-assisted song that addresses various stigmas around America's "ghettos" was a triumph of a first single -- as well written as it was uncompromising. Fiasco's new record is in a similar vein, politically-charged and tastefully presented.
Ty Dolla $ign
After releasing the Iamsu!-featured track “Lies & Dreams” earlier this week, Ty Dolla Sign decided to keep the new music rolling Friday night and stop by the LA Leakers to premiere his brand new single “Stand For”.
Let It Show
Yesterday, Big K.R.I.T.'s Cadillactica finally arrived (though it may not have done so while it was "still hot enough outside to ride with your windows down and your top dropped," as Krizzle previously promised). The Best Buy edition of the album included a few bonus tracks, and now a DJ Dahi-produced one of those, "Let It Show," has surfaced online.
We Don't Talk No More
Maejor Feat. Sonna Rele
After giving that "All About The Bass" song a revamp with assistance from Justin Bieber, Maejor Ali (he's dropping the Ali from his name), comes through with some of his own music on "We Don't Talk No More." While the rapper doubles as a producer, for this one he outsources to the talented DJ Dahi, and he calls upon Sonna Rele for additional vocals.
Big K.R.I.T. just dropped off his See Me On Top Vol. 4 mixtape a few weeks back, and yet he’s already eyeing the release of his new album Cadillactica. With two dope records already in the books, including "Mt. Olympus" & most recently “Pay Attention”, we got another new leak for ya tonight that’s surfaced online called “Cadillactica", (aka the project's title track).
What You On
Raven Sorvino Feat. Freddy Hefner
Whether he's producing for Schoolboy Q, TInk, Smoke DZA, SZA or even Lily Allen, DJ Dahi has been behind some of the best beats of the year. So far, the stylistic breadth of his production seems to have no limits, and today his work pops up on a new track by Raven Sorvino.
Elle Varner has teamed up with the unstoppable DJ Dahi for a new song dedicated to Mike Brown, the teen slayed by a Police officer in Ferguson last week. "One Love" is a call for equality, using the tragedy as a means to incite change. The song comes very shortly after J. Cole's song on the same subject, "Be Free", and most likely won't be the last time music is used to raise awareness on the situation.
Tink already hit us with a huge summer anthem a few weeks back, with her sunny Jeremih duet "Don't Tell Nobody". She subsequently delivered another collaboration with Kelela and DJ Dahi, as part of the Yours Truly "Songs From Scratch" series (which also gave birth to the Jeremih x Shlohmo collabs).
Tink Feat. Kelela
Once again, the Yours Truly and adidas originals #songsfromscratch series has resulted in a dope collaboration, this time between two singers on the rise. Previous "songs from scratch" include the Shlohmo and Jeremih collabo "Bo Peep (Do U Right)" as well as Chance The Rapper and Nosaj's "Paranoia."
