This Friday, Dizzy Wright will release the 7-track Wisdom and Good Vibes EP, his first project since the acrimonious collapse of Funk Volume. Intriguingly, Dizzy promises that the EP will feature plenty of live instrumentation, and he gave us a taste of that vibe with "Plotting," released last week.
"Work A Little Harder," produced by Alex Lustig, does not really adhere to the whole live instrumentation vibe, but it's a solid track nonetheless. Chimes and withering 808s provide a foundation as Dizzy's exhorts the listener to "work a little harder."
On Fridays, I be Big Worming
On Sundays, I think I'm Richard Sherman
Block the pass, and then I make the earnings
Bounce your head and that's for every person
From the hood to the damn suburbans
