Diggy Simmons disappeared for a few years before resurfacing with a remix to Key!'s "Dig It" earlier this year. "Anchors" finds Diggy introspectively rapping about his surroundings. His wordplay is miles ahead of the music he was dropping years ago, and Diggy's delivery finally catches up with his confidence. The "Anchors" instrumental includes a high pitch female vocal that creates a haunting sway behind a gorgeous piano riff and a cameo of violin chords. Diggy sticks to spitting spirituality conscious lyrics, but does it without sounding preachy or trite.
