Take a tour of Far Rock in Devin Lee's new video to "Ride Slow."
Devin Lee has spent this year establishing himself in the NYC underground, as he's returned from South Florida to his stomping grounds in Far Rockaway, a neighborhood that doesn't get much media attention in any capacity, hip-hop included. He gives fans an insider's look at the Far Rock lifestyle in his new video to last month's "Ride Slow," which now stands as one of the biggest tracks of Lee's career. It's a song of contrasts -- aggressive raps over a serene boom-bap production, and complex lyrics that become accessible through Lee's raw energy.
The video begins by focusing on a pair of aviator eyeglasses that lie on the gravel streets. Those glasses are soon picked up and put on by Lee, who proceeds to take viewers along on a tour of Far Rock, a place that simultaneously looks rough and charming. Lee travels slowly and freely on his bike and also through the back of a van with caged windows -- providing two different visions of his surroundings. "Ride Slow" is produced by WunTwo, and the video is shot and edited by Dorn Diligent.
