The hook of Denzel Curry's very serious "THE BLACKEST BALLOON" off the very serious part three (Dark) of his new album, TA13OO, begins with the words: "feels like a horror movie." The song sounds like on too. The beat and the lyrics are in dissonant defiance of those who underestimated him: "you thought I was lame, but I made a lane (damn straight!)"

The song is also the sequel to "BLACK BALLOONS" from part one of the album, which features Twelve'en and Goldlink. "BLACK BALLOONS" is much more carefree than its sequel, even with all those dark balloons floating over Curry's head. On "THE BLACKEST BALLOON," Curry has come to embody these balloons, the cartoon raincloud following above his head. In short, he's grouchy.

For a more in-depth discussion of the whole album, watch a video of Curry himself telling us what it all means, or figure it out yourself.

Quotable Lyrics

All truth, no doubt, these hoes don't care
They'll leave you assed out in your undewear
Leave me in the cold but you'll never take my soul, b***h
Curry still that n***a with a mouth full of gold, b***h
