Choosing a highlight from Denzel Curry's explosive new double EP 32 Zel / Planet Shrooms is a difficult task-- each track is a swirling psychedelic world of its own-- but we've settled on a pretty great one. "Lord Vader Kush II" has a title that sounds like a stoner nerd's dorm room dream, but it's yet another Curry track that manages to be trippy, hard-nosed and reverent to old-school Three 6 Mafia at the same damn time.
Aside from the line "split the blunt in half with a lightsaber staff," there's really not much nerdery going on here, with Curry painting pictures of a post-apocalyptic landscape that would terrify any other rapper. "Betcha Rozay never ever ever heard no shit like this," he raps, and due to the track's mind-boggling sonics, he's probably right.
