Dee-1 puts his city at the forefront in his new clip.

Dee-1’s Slingshot David album arrived last year, and the New Orleans-bred emcee is continuing to push out the inspiring message behind his body of work, and now returns with the visuals to pair with his Cyrus Deshield-assisted “I Don’t Wanna Let You Down.

“Man, you talk about hard work and sacrifice. Look, I’m on Bourbon Street in New Orleans one night. I met these kids—nine, ten, eleven years old. You wouldn’t believe what they’re doing out there to make money in order to pay bills for their families,” Dee-1 opens up in the clip as he provides us with context to the video’s concept.

In the video, he specifically focuses on a young boy who works odd jobs on the street because he’s too young to get an actual one to help take care of his family. “I wanted to tell his story. It’s motivation for everybody,” adds Dee. Check out the full video and give us your thoughts on it.
