As Hip Hop music continues to evolve on the West Coast, Compton is making its way back into the fold with new artists like Kendrick Lamar, and now...D Nice. Born and raised in the City of Compton, D Nice started producing when he was just twelve years old, looking up to producers like Dr. Dre, DJ Quik, Kanye West, Pharrell and Timbaland. Determined to create his own style, D Nice stayed in the studio perfecting his craft, but couldn’t find lyricists to rap on his records. “I figured since no one else would get on, then I had to do it”, he said, and was exactly what he did. As time went on, D Nice and his crew The Fab 6 (SHOUT OUT TO THE FAB), started making a name for themselves performing throughout Compton, and DNice was soon featuring and producing music for other Hip Hop artists. His new mix tape, “Invite Only”, which features the singles “Take Your Time”, “Sounds You Make”, and his new single “Activate”, have garnered interest from record label executives and DJ’s who are excited about what’s on the horizon for this up and coming superstar.
