Daye Jack tackles police brutality in "Hands Up" feat. Killer Mike.

Daye Jack turned a soccer scholarship at Dartmouth to pursue music and computer science at NYU. Clearly, we have a renaissance man in our midst.

Following up his Soul Glitch release this summer, Daye Jack recruits rapper-cum-activist Killer Mike for a diatribe against police brutality called "Hands Up." “Living with my head down, hands up," Jack croons, "No, no, don’t shoot/No, no, don’t shoot." It has a decidedly different feel from Vince Staples' "Hands Up," a banger from hell that urged the crowd to put their hands in their air a la a soon-to-be victim of police violence.

Watch out for Daye Jack's debut album dropping in 2016.

Quotable Lyrics

I want to live forever, angel here to hold my head up
Looking at the mirror skin is burning, living in the kettle
grew up in the melting plot, black child going mental
