It’s been a minute since R&B singer Daniel Caesar dropped off anything new for fans. Granted he’s been featured on a couple songs over the past year, including most recently “Beauty & Essex” last week coincidentally, but the last time he released a record by himself was back in June of 2017 with the song “Blessed,” but thankfully that changes here today. After cutting off his dreads last week, the new-looked Caesar decides to return to the scene today and share this new song here called “Who hurt You?” and there’s quite the backstory to it as well.

Hours before the song surfaced online, Daniel tweeted out a “missed connection” ad on Craigslist, looking for a what he called a “voluptuous beauty” in a blonde wig he encountered at Atlanta’s Follies strip club. He said he gave her about $3400 dollars and she complimented him on his “gap tooth,” but he lost her number she gave him. So as a result, he decided to take to Craigslist and a write this song after the stripper he met that night, alas “who hurt you?”

Produced by Jordan Evans & Matthew Burnett, take a listen to the soothing new record with additional vocals coming from T-Pain. Record available now on iTunes.

Quotable Lyrics:

Take me back to Georgia, back to Atlanta
Funny how present turns past
I might fly Priscilla out just for banner
So mesmerized by that ass
The way she moves it I can tell that she loves me
Nigga can't help but to touch
Smack it around a bit then sip on some bubbly
Hope I'm not doing too much
