Today's Heatseeker is a Brooklyn emcee who goes by Dame Fyffe. His BK accent and attitude will make you think of the great ones who've come from his borough, of whom Fyffe is obviously a student. Lyricism is the most important part of Fyffe's art, and he's unafraid to take on heady concepts. "Politic'n," the track we're highlighting today, finds Fyffe reflecting on neighborhood politics as well how the game works on a worldwide level, mentioning the UN, The Vatican, and Kwanzaa in his raps. His messages are meant both for the streets and for more philosophical inquiries. The production comes from Baskyacht, who mixes boom-bap drums with an immersive blend of atmospheric sounds.
