Damian Lillard has dropped his follow-up project to last year's The Letter O. The latest drop, Confirmed, is a 13-track collection that features heavy collaborations from 2 Chainz, BJ the Chicago Kid, Lil Wayne and more.
The Portland Trail Blazers player who goes by Dame D.O.L.L.A. told us before the drop that the title was strategically chosen. "I named the album that because there's always been something said about me spending time in the studio, even though I've always shown up and produced for my team every night. I've never had issues with stardom. I'm also not new to music. I've always created music while playing at every level of basketball. But now this is no longer an experiment. This is my second album."
The project proves to be the work of an experienced rapper in the game who has improved from his last musical offerings. The beats come heavy, yet smooth and the lyrical content isn't anything you wouldn't expect Dame to be rapping about. "“I’m from where Golden State at/ But Portland where I lay at/ I’m the Daddy Mac, Mac Daddy with hoop and rappin’/ Y’all be on your Kris Kross, uh, hustlin’ backwards/ All this game I’m givin’ is prolly gon’ be a caption."
A heavy hitter is without a doubt "Run It Up" featuring Lil Wayne, who Damian has said to be one of his favourite rappers. It's easily the top banger on the album.
