Like his fellow ATLien Southside, Sonny Digital is at least as interested in rapping as he is in producing these days. Late Thursday night he delivered his newest rap masterpiece -- "SRGOW," produced by Honorable C.N.O.T.E.
The Migos just announced an upcoming mixtape, No Label 3, and just like that, the trio has dropped off a gift in the form of a collab with Honorable C-Note. Seeing those names together on paper, one would expect nothing short of a banger, and while "Say Sum" is just that, it's a surprisingly melodic and romantic effort, verging on R&B.
Wouldn't Do It (Remix)
Gucci Mane Feat. Slim Jxmmi
"Wouldn't Do It" was already one of the highlights from Gucci Mane's The Spot soundtrack (the movie is still nowhere to be found), but with the release of Honorable C-Note's new C-Note vs. Gucci 2 mixtape, we've been treated to a new remix of the record from Rae Sremmurd's Slim Jxmmi.
Tate Kobang's "Bank Rolls" is probably the hottest freestyle since Bobby Shmurda's "Hot N*gga," or at least T-Wayne's "Nasty Freestyle," but the Baltimore rapper can do a hell of a lot on an original beat as well, as "Oh My" proves. Teaming with the increasingly versatile Honorable C-Note, Kobang locks into a minimal, but totally danceable groove, surely making his hero, Mr. Cheeks, proud.
Honorable C.N.O.T.E Feat. Peewee Longway, 2 Chainz & Zappsola
Honorable C-Note is one of Atlanta's most successful producers, but still one of its most underrated. Today he's dropped a mixtape titled From Then 2 Now 2, that compiles some of his biggest records of the last year or so (including ASAP Rocky's M'$ and Ferg's "New Level"), as well as some new material.
A$AP Ferg Feat. Future
Earlier this month, A$AP Ferg returned with his first song in over a year, the Hit-Boy-produced "Tatted Angel." It's unclear if the song will make it on to Ferg's next album, Always Strive and Prosper, but regardless, it showed that the Hood Pope is still at the top of his game. As to what will end up on the new album -- this new banger featuring Future: "New Level."
What a holiday it's been. Here's another fresh Gucci Mane release to cap off "Guwop Day." "Big Money" is Gucci's third collaboration with Honorable C-Note today, and like "Ball With You" and "I Wouldn't Do It." it's another gem.
I Wouldn't Do It
"Guwop Day" is almost over, but Gucci is making sure the holiday goes out with a bang. He just released "Ball With You," and now he and Honorable C-Note are back with another one, "I Wouldn't Do It." Though most everything Gucci puts out is quality, he's saved some extra special records for 10/17.
Ball With You
Even though Gucci just delayed the release of his first feature film, "The Spot," until next month, we knew he was gonna drop off something special today, on 10/17, aka "Guwop Day." Here's the first new track of the day, "Ball With You," produced by Honorable C.N.O.T.E. These two have dropped so many gems together. Of course, Gucci's staple is a trap house anthem, but it's easy to forget how versatile he is. "Ball With You" is pure, heartfelt romance, and C-Note crafts a lush production to properly soundtrack Guwop's woozy laments.
Back and Forth
Skeme Feat. Yakki
Skeme just announced his Ingleworld 3 project today, and simultaneously he's released what will serve as the second single from the project. "Back & Forth" is an aptly titled record, which finds Skeme sharing the track equally with Yakki, generally each rapping four bars at a time, keeping the momentum up throughout. It's technically hookless, but the record follows a specific template as the beat morphs, making for plenty of memorable stretches.
They say that no word rhymes with "Orange," but Gucci Mane has taken the claim as a challenge, using his new record to prove otherwise. Guwop transforms "foreign," "pourin," and "Ralph Lauren" into perfect rhymes on the song's hook, showing us once again that he truly has a way with words. The song also serves as something of an unofficial sequel to the rapper's breakthrough hit, "Lemonade," where he closed damn near every line with a resounding "lemooooon".
Gucci Mane Feat. Rich Homie Quan & Peewee Longway
To commemorate the ten-year anniversary of his reign in the music industry, Gucci Mane is getting ready to share his very first movie ever, which he executive produced, called “The Spot” on 10/17. With an upcoming soundtrack on the way as well, Guwop decides to get the ball rolling tonight by giving us the go ahead to premiere the first offering from that soundtrack called “No Problems” featuring fellow ATLien's Rich Homie Quan & Peewee Longway.
Sino Feat. Kevin Gates
Detroit's own Sino is making major inroads into this thing they call the rap game. Just a couple months ago he was a winner of HNHH's weekly Heatseekers video contest for "Slappin," now HNHH premieres his new single "Young Nigga" feat. Kevin Gates, produced by the Honorable C Note.
Gucci Mane Feat. Verse Simmonds
Before Gucci Mane releases his new Trapology mixtape in a couple hours (9:17 to be exact), the ATL rapper decides to come through and share another leak off it first called “Ass Everywhere” featuring Verse Simmonds.
ASAP Rocky just sat down for an exclusive conversation with Red Bull Music academy, and at the end of the conversation, he premiered a brand new track called "M's". The song has now made it's way online, and you can listen to it in full. The song features a particularly banging instrumental from The Honorable C-Note, while Rocky maneuvers the beat with some of his jiggiest flows yet, before launching into some melodies by the song's end.
Gucci Mane Feat. Young Dolph
The ever-reliable Gucci Mane just dropped off his new album 1017 Mafia, and now that his label's opted to put all the tracks on YouTube, we've decided to pick out a highlight for today's song list. "Story" features Young Dolph in rare form and an absolutely pummeling beat from Honorable C-Note.
It's been a minute since we've had some original material from Pizzle on our front page. Fortunately, the emcee is back and better than ever with a brand new single. "Lena Horne," a record dedicated to the famous singer/activist who passed in 2010, the new track features production from Honorable C.N.O.T.E.. Give the song a listen and let us know if you're feeling it.
C.N.O.T.E. Vs Gucci Intro
To promote his upcoming mixtape C.N.O.T.E. Vs Gucci (which drops Christmas Day), Honorable C.N.O.T.E. decides to call up Gucci Mane (from jail that is) and record his bars over the phone for the project’s intro track.
I'm So Sorry (Alternate Version)
Spenzo Feat. Meek Mill, Young Thug & Maine Man
New Meek Mill verse alert! Since MMG's Philly representative was freed from jail last week, we haven't heard a new verse from him, but that changes now. After sharing a first version of "I'm So Sorry" with Young Thug in October, Spenzo now gives an alternate version that features Meek and Maine Man.
Taylor J Feat. Dose
The last we heard from Taylor J was back when the young emcee dropped his "Michael Jordan" remix in May. A collaboration with Pizzle, the track was widely acclaimed by reviewers. Today, J hopes to continue the trend with "Hoodie Season," an Honorable C Note-produced track off his Central Ave EP.
