D Smoke and SiR, real life brothers, have linked up on film to shoot a new visual for their collaboration "Lights On." The song appeared on D Smoke's recent album, Black Habits. The West Coast MC broke into the mainstream consciousness when he won the Netflix competition, Rhythm + Flow. and hip-hop fans are all the better for it, as the rapper has impressed at every turn.

The cinematic new visuals star a few familiar faces, namely, Issa Rae, but also smaller cameos from G Perico and Danny Trejo. The Insecure star plays a gun-toting stripper, who proceeds to rob the club owner-- however, it's a story that's played out in reverse.

The music video is directed by Jack Begert, who also filmed ScHoolboy Q's "Numb Numb Juice," among other TDE videos.

D Smoke spoke about the concept with Variety, stating, "We wanted to tell a story without bias, that simply shows a series of event s tied to an empowered woman who takes what she wants and is willing to face the consequences that result. No one should judge how another makes ends meet. Keep the lights on."
