It's been a long, and sometimes, torturous road to be a CyHi The Prynce fan. I mean specifically, the road to his debut album-- and while it's been frustrating as a fan, one can only imagine what the man himself has been going through to get this album out. The lyricist seemed to languish a bit when signed to G.O.O.D. Music, and while he's never lost the support of Kanye West (and vice versa), it seems like the best move for CyHi was to leave the label (he's under Sony), as he has now, finally, solidified his debut album's release, which is impending. It's clear he still has Ye's support, as the rapper executive produced No Dope on Sundays on top of providing a verse for the recent release "Dat Side."

The G.O.O.D. Music team's contributions to No Dope on Sundays doesn't end there, Travis Scott pops up on the song "I'm Fine," which is seeing its debut today. It's actually the perfect melding of both artists' styles, while Travis does have a habit of monopolizing and determining the sound direction of almost any song he's on (feature or otherwise), here, it still feels wholly like a CyHi song, with Travis providing his usual trappy, auto-tuned ad-libs and melodic bars. The song is defined by its organ keys, with soulful, gospel-esque production, and it's likely you can expect a lot more of that on NDOS.

What do you think? Excited for CyHi to make his debut? Sound off.

Stay tuned for our sit-down with CyHi about the album as well, in the meantime, you can revisit our interview about the album back in March at SXSW.

Quotable Lyrics

When I was outside in the summer
Back when we was sellin' 3-5 for the hunnid'
Boy, you gotta' get it, can't rely on your momma'
Used to wash some cars on the side for some money
'Til I learned my OG's got the pies in abundance
Down 85, get a thousand an onion
