We thought we were gonna get Curren$y's new album, Canal St. Confidential, next week, but Spitta recently pushed the release back a month. And that's fine -- if the rest of the album sounds like "Boulders," the booming single he's dropped off today, it'll be well worth the wait. Spitta had previewed music with 808 Mafia this summer, and we've finally got the first taste of the N.O. x ATL collab.
We're used to hearing Curren$y over lush, sample-heavy stoner beats, but Spitta nails the ominous 808 Mafia production on "Boulders." There's a little more sting in his bars, a little more urgency, and it's a welcome change of pace and an exciting preview of Canal St. Confidential. Spitta is the epitome of reliability, but this has gotta be one of his strongest efforts in awhile. What do y'all think?
