Coming off the drop of his Effected album, Dreamville's Cozz has delivered a surreal neon video for "Demons N Distractions." The opening half of the Scott Lazer directed clip kicks off with some strong cinematography, capturing an eerie vibe while a circle of masked goons mean mug the camera. Visually, we're looking at some The Purge shit. Employing brilliant use of color, "Demons N Distractions" is well shot across the board, allowing Cozz to solidify himself as a dynamic performer. Blunt in hand, the rapper spits tales of the come-up while getting up close and personal with his lady friend. Meanwhile, the squadron of ne'er do well clowns loom Pennywise-esque.
Halfway through we switch gears, sliding out of the dark aesthetic and into a world of vibrancy. The hood locale grounds the clip in reality, an interesting juxtaposition to the strange and ominous underbelly of the opening movement. Check the mutifaceted video now, and don't sleep on Effected.
