CJ Fly, a founding member of Pro Era, is gearing up to release his debut album, FLYTRAP. On his birthday in July, CJ released three tracks that didn't make it onto FLYTRAP. Now he's finally unveiled the first single off FLYTRAP: "Now You Know." The track is produced by Matt Noble.

Case Arnold Feat. CJ Fly
HOTTTTT
It's been over three years since Case Arnold released his last project. The Tennessee native now moves towards the release of his next full-length with "Treasure," debuted in an HNHH premiere. Produced by Epic, the "Treasure" beat is organized around a warm, harmonically complex piano vamp that carries throughout. Deploying a slick, old-school flow, Arnold urges the listener to treasure the moment without coming across as overly preachy. He is joined by Pro Era's CJ Fly, who has a project of his own on the horizon.

Today is dedicated to Capital STEEZ, as the late Pro Era member would be celebrating his 23rd birthday today if he were still alive. However there's another Pro Era member also celebrating his birthday today (or rather late last night), with CJ Fly releasing a trio of songs in celebration of his 23rd birthday yesterday, July 6th. The cuts he's released are throwaways that didn't make his upcoming project FLYTRAP, the rapper revealed on Soundcloud. For throwaways, how do they sound?

CJ Fly celebrated his 23rd birthday yesterday by releasing three tracks that didn't make the cut on his upcoming project FLYTRAP. Track number one: "Fuck Up My Day," which contrary to what the title (and cover art) would have you believe is an extremely upbeat track. Rapping in a sing-song voice over Bruce Leekix's heavily swung drums, CJ argues that simply being alive and not dead, especially when you're a black male who came from nothing, is something worth celebrating. CJ Fly's day is unfuckwitable.

We just released our new episode of On The Come Up moments ago, this week featuring Pro Era's CJ Fly. To coincide with his On The Come Up debut, CJ recorded us a little exclusive titled "Futurama," with creaky production from DF. For fans of the TV show "Futurama," you may be disappointed to find out there aren't really any direct references to the show.

When it comes to drugs, Pro Era pretty much definitively has one they favor over all others: ganja. Today, one of them, CJ Fly, takes on OT Genasis' coke-fueled anthem "CoCo" and fittingly re-titles his take "Dope Smoke."

A La $ole, Dessy Hinds and CJ Fly connect on "Hail Razor," the latest reveal from Pro Era and Scion AV's upcoming free EP The Shift. Unfortunately, we only have a clean version of it for the time being. The track finds the young New York City emcees delivering lyrical exercises over a creeping, boom bap-indebted instrumental from Backpack. Can you dig it?
