Sir Michael Rocks might have said that The Cool Kids are never coming back, but that doesn't mean that the duo didn't run things during their tenure. Over four years, Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish released six mixtapes, an EP and a proper album titled When Fish Ride Bicycles.

Shout out the weekend. Friday is upon us. We're kicking off the weekend as we usually do, with a dose of our staff's favorite Soundcloud releases from the past seven days. This week turned out to be pretty big on the mixtape side, with Ty Dolla $ign, Big K.R.I.T., Jadakiss and Jeezy dropping free projects. However this week's Staff Picks playlist deviates from the big names for the most part, shining light on a bunch of up & comers. It's also not the -hardest- playlist ever, there's a lot of softer, r'n'b-leaning records until you get down towards the bottom.

In terms of songs that use the names of caucasian female celebrities to stand in for other white substances, Donmonique's "Pilates" is second only to Migos' "Hannah Montana," the track that may have started the whole trend. Listing Jenner sisters and former Disney stars on the hook, the 20-year-old Brooklyn rapper rides the minimal, "Vans"-style beat to paydirt, securing herself quite the underground hit, seemingly from out of nowhere.

Fresh off the release of his debut mixtape Concrete Rose, Manolo Rose stopped by the office to speak on the project and what else he has in store this year. At this point, it's become pretty common knowledge that the rapper is the creator of Troy Ave's hit "All About The Money," however he's slowly transitioned into a star of his own with hits like "Run Ricky Run," and most recently "Super Flexin."
