Stream Chuck Inglish's New Instrumental Album "Texturizer"
There is much ado about the reunion of The Cool Kids. Chuck Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks recently dropped an excellent new song called "Running Man," but as they have made it known, they have solo projects to get out of the way before they can go full throttle on new Cool Kids material.
Behind The Beat: Chuck Inglish
One of the first Chuck Inglish beats most people heard was track one of The Cool Kids’ breakout EP, The Bake Sale. Its unmistakable use of vocals saying the instrument they’re taking the place of was ingeniously self-aware. Aside from the beat’s conceptual cleverness, the song manages to not sound too busy or cluttered, despite using vocals as part of a beat with more vocals layered on top.

"The Hiatus is over. We missed being us. We refuse to let people down and not be the actual group. We been through too much."

This week turned out to be pretty big on the mixtape side, with Ty Dolla $ign, Big K.R.I.T., Jadakiss and Jeezy dropping free projects. However this week's Staff Picks playlist deviates from the big names for the most part, shining light on a bunch of up & comers. It's also not the -hardest- playlist ever, there's a lot of softer, r'n'b-leaning records until you get down towards the bottom.
