Chris Evans has completed his contract as Marvel's Captain America. Over the last eight years, Cap has been the leader of the Avengers. Although Iron-Man may have been the fan favorite at first, Captain America delivered the best-written trilogy. Both Winter Soldier and Civil War can be placed in the top 5 MCU films, and both were helmed by Avengers: Infinity War directors and siblings Joe and Anthony Russo.

After Evans completed his final day of shooting for Avengers 4, he tweeted an emotional goodbye to the character. "Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least," he wrote. "Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful." Fans began to speculate that Evans' tweet hinted at the death of Captain America, but the actor recently revealed that people shouldn't look to decipher his words. While at ACE Comic Con in Chicago, Evans reassured fans that no spoilers were given out in his tweet. Via The Hollywood ReporterEvans told the audience, "I should clarify that, I know I did tweet something that made a lot of people think that it was in some way a spoiler, and I should clarify that, regardless of how Avengers 4 ends, I would’ve tweeted the exact same thing."

“That last day of filming really was a very emotional day,” he continued. “It was the culmination of almost 10 years of filming and 22 movies — this unbelievable tapestry — and you feel a lot more emotions than I think even I thought I’d feel, and I felt it was appropriate to share the gratitude. I know it had a ripple effect, but I am neither confirming nor denying anything.”
