Last Thursday it was all about Drake, as most users were patiently awaiting the arrival of VIEWS. There isn't an event of comparable magnitude this week, but today's TBT focuses on a star who's been in the mainstream spotlight for even longer than Drake, and that's Chris Brown. Breezy has been especially active as of late, dropping off his new single, "Grass Ain't Greener," today, as well as his crew's new mixtapeBefore the Trap: Nights in Tarzana, last week.

As he's also preparing to share his story to a larger audience, via a forthcoming documentary, it's a good time to go back to his career beginnings with his first-ever single, "Run It," released in 2005 when he was 16 years old. His talent was already obvious, and the track still sounds like a banger today. In fact, Brown would do well to grab some inspiration from "Run It" and drop another like-minded track -- strictly for club use -- on his next album, Heartbreak on a Full Moon. As for Juelz, he's always welcome on TBT, especially as Drizzy recently gave him a shout-out on the VIEWS track "Hype."

Does Brown's debut single rank among his best work? Amazingly, he's more relevant than ever over a decade later.

Quotable Lyrics

You'll see, girl I can set you off
Don't believe my age is gonna slow us down
I can definitely show you things
To have you sayin' I can't be 16
