This past May, we lost one of New York's most promising up-and-coming talents in Chinx. The 31-year-old Far Rockaway rapper never got to see the release of his debut album, Welcome to JFK, which was put out three months after his death. Still, Chinx's fans, as well as those not yet acquainted with the Coke Boys rapper, were given a project worthy of his legacy.
Chinx "Yay" Video
The irony of Chinx's tragic death is it gave his music a wider audience, as hordes of hip hop fans tuned in last month for his posthumous album Welcome to JFK, trying to hear some new Chinx cuts for the last time. At least there's still new Chinx music videos to be had. After releasing the video for "Far Rock," the Coke Boys drop the visual for "Yay." Part of the video was shot before his demise, with other parts showing people looking fresh wearing various types of "Yay"-lettered apparel including hats, shirts, and pants with "Yay" on the booty.

Watch Chinx's Last Radio Appearance 3 Days Before His Murder
Three days before he was gunned down in Jamaica Queens, Coke Boys member Chinx appeared on DJ Kay Slay's radio show along with French Montana's little brother Zack and assorted randos. Chinx seems pretty happy and carefree along with everyone else in the room, cracking jokes, drinking coffee, talking about how much Zack Montana likes to get fucked up. The interview is a cheerful occasion and actually quite mundane, which only adds to the sense of sadness regarding his murder.

Chinx Feat. Zack
"Run up on a nigga point blank, fuck the talk and throw that money in koi tank" might be the best hook that Chinx has ever come up with, and today, the song in which you'll find that line ("Point Blank") has gotten a video. The track, which is the penultimate one on Cocaine Riot 5, also features Zack on the hook and was produced by Bkorn.

Rayven Justice Feat. Chinx & Uncle Murda
Rayven Justice has made his name off of Bay Area-inflected RnB, always wearing his hometown of Oakland on his back. While RnBass is all the rage these days, its always a good career move to make something for the East Coast as well. "Don't Trust Em" fills that purpose, not only opting for a looser drum beat, but recruiting the voices of New York's Chinx and Uncle Murda.
Chinx Feat. French Montana "Fuck Are You Anyway" Video
Chinx Feat. French Montana
Listening to Chinx, it's hard not to hear plenty of French Montana in his delivery. As most crews operate, the two rappers likely fed off of each other when developing their styles, but their compatible flows work best when placed on the same record, as we hear on "Fuck Are You Anyway". The record is one of the most confident statements we've heard from Chinx, carrying both the hook and his verses with a breezy swagger.
