Chicago Mag named 22-year-old Chance the Rapper its 2015 “Chicagoan of the Year because he's more than an artist -- he's a humanitarian. Chance's local efforts this year have included taking elementary school kids on a surprise field trip and organizing a free festival for Chicago teens. Now, he's announcing a new initiative called "Warmer Winter," which is aiming to raise $100,000 on order to provide coats for a thousand members of Chicago's homeless population. The initiative has already raised enough money to buy 30 versatile EMPWR coats, which are built to handle Chicago's brutal winters.

Chance made the announcement on an interview with Chicago’s 107.5 WGCI Morning Takeover. Watch him discuss "Warmer Winter," his SNL performance, Spike Lee's "Chi-Raq," and more below.
