Chance The Rapper is helping change & push the boundaries of the music business, and the professionals who are responsible for dishing out the Grammy’s have been paying attention. Not only was Chance nominated for seven (7) Grammy’s this year for his work on The Coloring Book, a first in history, but the Chicago rapper just made another major announcement regarding next year’s Grammy show.

According to Chance, all projects released on Soundcloud will be eligible for a Grammy starting in 2018. Chance took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to make the announcement, and who else is better to reveal the news other than the man responsible for pushing the boundaries.

The change itself will now allow completely independent artists, free of both label ties and ties to streaming services, to receive recognition for their work. How awesome!

Peep Chance’s tweet (below), and start releasing those projects on soundcloud people.
