UPDATE 05/10, 2:25 AM: Chance the Rapper has reached out to his fans for the first time since it was reported that he was suddenly hospitalized shortly before a show in NYC. Chance has now confirmed that pneumonia was the cause of his hospitalization. "I got pneumonia but #Chance3 still," he wrote on Twitter, suggesting that his sickness will not alter the release date of his mixtape, Chance 3, which he had set for this Friday (May 13).

Chance also took the time to thank Joey Bada$$ and Anderson .Paak, who, along with Mark Ronson, performed in lieu of Chance at tonight's event, a benefit show for the Robin Hood foundation.

Chance The Rapper will not make his scheduled performance at a charity event tonight in New York, as Billboard reports the Chicago emcee has been sent to the hospital for unknown reasons. The Night For NYC event at Terminal 5 will continue without him, as Anderson .Paak, Mark Ronson, and Joey Bada$$ have been announced to perform in his place.

So far there has been no official word from Chance or his team. Chance will be releasing his third mixtape, Chance 3, this Friday, May 13th. We will update with any new information on his condition as it arrives.
