Carl Crawford had a tragedy happen at his mansion in Texas last month as a five-year-old child and an adult woman drowned at his home. According to reports, the child had broken away from the party and eventually fell into the pool. A woman went in to go save him although both individuals eventually died.

Now, the mother of the five-year-old child, Liban Hersi, is suing Crawford for over $1 million in damages. In new court docs via TMZ, Hersi claims that Crawford didn't do enough to protect her child and noted that there should be a fence or at least a gate blocking the pool.

Following the tragic incident, Crawford took to the 1501 Entertainment Instagram page where he expressed his sadness and regret over what happened.

Per Crawford:

"My Hearts Heavy. The tragic events that occurred at my home will be with me forever. I'm at a loss for words I've struggled all week to manage my emotions and I keep thinking of the families of those who've passed and their grief, I know they have it the hardest. They are the first and last thing I think of these days. Please keep them in your prayers, I know they will always be in mine."
