Play House Challenge
RJ has just given us Taking Niggas Beats 2. One of the mixtape's clear standouts is "Play House Challenge," in which he recalls the fast life he led before he came up in the music game, "selling off-white without the aisles and clearance.
Larry June has been busy glo'ing up, so we haven't received new music from him in a minute. The rapper has been touring with Post Malone and Jazz Cartier for the "Hollywood Dreams" tour.
I Love It 'Work'
Reese LAFLARE Feat. PartyNextDoor
Reese LaFlare wasn’t specifically named, but it was suspected he was the subject of Lil Uzi Vert’s outburst at Day N Night Fest. He’s remained silent on the subject. He was also subject to a leak yesterday, and decided to post the track “I Love It ‘Work’” on his own Soundcloud. It features PartyNextDoor.
Hardo's last release was a big one -- the Meek Mill-featuring "Love Foreal," a street anthem that the whole state of Pennsylvania can get behind. A couple of months later, the Pittsburgh trapper is back with a worthy follow-up: "Represent," a collab with one of the game's top producers in Cardo.
How You Want It
Kamaiyah has been the toast of the Bayever since she released her debut mixtape A Good Night in the Ghetto, which she described as "a soundtrack for the average 18-25 year old thriving, living and having a good time." Yesterday, the self-appointed "west coast queen" released her first song since the mixtape: "How You Want It."
Ca$h Out Feat. PartyNextDoor
The pairing of Ca$h Out and PartyNextDoor is an unexpected one, though it's a partnership that works surprisingly well. Ca$h Out remixed PND's "No Feelings" at the beginning of last year, and in late 2014, they collaborated on "Don't Worry," which ended up being one of the best tracks either artist has been a part of. "Don't Worry" was produced by Cardo and Yung Exclusive, and today, Ca$h and PND are back with another Cardo-produced collab, entitled "Sexually." This one finds Cardo replacing Yung Exclusive with his other frequent collaborator, Johnny Juliano.
Headaches and Migraines
Mac Miller Feat. Dave East
The opening track on the new Smoke Till I'm Dead compilation is as good as it gets in terms of 4/20 releases. Recruiting Cardo, aka the one of the brilliant minds behind the all-time smoker's classic Kush & OJ, Mac Miller delivers some heady bars, while Dave East shows up to briefly tighten up the feel of the song, finding the nook and crannies of the beat Mac looked over on his floating flows, before handing it back to Miller, who proceeds to dig further into the groove, riding a multi-syllabic flow into eternity.
Nef The Pharaoh
For everyone experiencing some Baby Mama Drama, Nef The Pharaoh has your anthem. It's been a busy Thursday for VERY HOTTTTT records and Nef is just adding to the heat with this latest Cardo-produced record. It's smooth, yet a banger, with a g-funk bassline defining it succinctly as a West Coast record; but that's true for most of Nef's music.
Ye Ali & Kirko Bangz
Kirko Bangz & Ye Ali are getting ready to release a joint project soon called IV Play, and today we get its latest leak. After hitting us with the track “Go First,” the two decide to return today with another offering from the EP called “Still Down.”
Nessly Feat. Night Lovell
"Is Nessly still finnneeesssssiinnnnn?" This is a question I ask myself at least six times a day, sometimes I even hit up Nessly to ask. The age old question finally gets answered with the release of "Still Finnessin" last night.
Bia just got a huge look by being named an opener on Pusha T’s upcoming Darkest Before Dawn tour. Fittingly, she just dropped a track from her upcoming project titled “Whip It.” We can’t think of a more fitting song to introduce yourself to fans of Pusha T’s ostentatious coke raps.
King Mez is back for all the haters saying he's done changed up. The rapper, who hails from North Carolina, has definitely made strides in his career (and changes for the better, one would think), since linking with Dr. Dre and becoming a prominent force on his Compton album. We haven't heard from him much since, although he did stop by The Pharmacy on Beats 1 to bless Dre with a freestyle.
Back On The Bullshyt
2 Chainz Feat. Lil Wayne
As we await the arrival of 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne's promised collaborative project, the two have united on a new track from Chainz' surprise EP, Felt Like Cappin. The track expands on the chemistry the two have already established on tracks like "Rich As Fuck" and "I Do It," each coming through with punchline-driven raps, but Chainz plays things straight as far as flows go, while Weezy comes through with an auto-tuned slither, adding some melody to the mix. Meanwhile, the pounding instrumental comes courtesy of Cardo.
Nef The Pharaoh Feat. Mozzy
On his debut EP, released in November, Nef the Pharaoh linked up with producer Cardo for an excellent Michael Jackson tribute. The song ended up leading to a 10-track collaborative EP, Neffy Got Wings, which dropped yesterday.
Surrounded by so much talent, it’s forgivable if you forgot that TDE President Punch is a solid emcee in his own right. As he usually does, he dropped “Gone” overnight to little fanfare, but the track is definitely worthy of attention.
Nef The Pharaoh Feat. Ty Dolla $ign & Eric Bellinger
Nef The Pharaoh capped off a breakout 2015 with his Nef The Pharaoh EP, and he's got plans to keep that momentum alive in 2016 with an upcoming EP entirely produced by Cardo, Neffy Got Wings.
Nef The Pharaoh Feat. Philthy Rich
It's confirmed: Nef the Pharaoh is that dude right now, dropping one slapper after the other. He capped off 2015 with "No Masturbation," and he's now back with the Cardo-produced "#Saydaat." Nef showed up on Drake's IG a couple weeks ago with a caption that read "Say Daat," and now we know why.
Nef The Pharaoh
Vallejo sensation Nef the Pharaoh just dropped off his debut self-titled EP on E-40's Sick Wid It Records. The release included Nef's breakout hit, "Big Tymin," as well as the YG and Ty Dolla $ign remix. Each of the EP's 7 tracks is worth talking about, as Nef explores a wide variety of different sounds without sacrificing any of the project's cohesiveness or its pulsing energy.
City Shawn made his HNHH debut in August with "Keep Goin," and he's now back with another strong record, "Gawd Like," produced by the mean duo of Cardo and Vybe. The track is off Shawn's new album, Forever 2, which drops tomorrow (Oct. 30).
Just A Rider
We got snippets of 7 new songs from PartyNextDoor last night as he was the special guest on episode 7 of OVO Sound Radio. "Codeine Bumpin'" was an immediate favorite, though "Just a Rider" is a track that has more crossover appeal and has the potential to be a big hit for Party.
