The Louisiana born rapper known as Bulu who was born in Alexandria, La to troubling circumstances.
Being raised by a single mother in a world of poverty, violence, drugs, and despair could have made him bitter and cold, but he always had a heart for music and remained motivated. Bulu always had a hidden drive for rapping. At the age of 12, he made his rhymes known at school, turning many of his classmates into his fans. The reputation he developed as a lyricist and storyteller at the age of 15 made him well-
known and sought after by his peers and older crowds for rap battles.
Soon after, he released the single “I Do It” as a tribute to his grandmother and the life he had lived thus far. The city was taken by a storm with the passion of his music and their ability to relate to his words.
Unlike other local artists, his words impacted friends and strangers alike for one reason in particular, He was real. “I Do It” quickly became the unofficial street anthem of his area and surrounding cities.
Believed to be a ladies’ man, the release of his following single “Superwoman” set this idea in stone. Women from all walks of life fell for his lyrics in the song. Men also followed suit, being able to relate to the lyrics that real relationships is not always pleasure, there’s also pain.
While both singles have been successful, Bulu continues to work vigorously to reach major markets. As said in his single “I do it” the music he makes is not for fame, but for the fans who truly love his work and for the promises he’s made that he refuses to leave unfulfilled.
