Bow Wow progressed from his youth as a rapper named Lil Bow Wow, and as he continues to grow up he's decided on another name change, although this one is more drastic than simply dropping the "lil."  The co-host of BET's 106 & Park has announced today that following the BET Awards, he will no longer be going by Bow Wow. He'll be adopting his real name, Shad Moss, as his rapper name.

A video began circulating of Bow Wow telling fans, "the whole world dabbin, and they don't even know or understand what dabbin is. First of all, dab is a strong way to smoke marijuana, it's the purest form of marijuana, it's extremely strong. So the dance comes from when you smoke and you cough and the first thing you do is..." He says before doing a dab.

Bow Wow, who's been rapping since age five, is ready for a new stage in his career. Now 28, the rapper just announced his departure from Cash Money Records, to which he signed over five years ago. He posted the video announcement to his Facebook, and he was quick to clarify: "This is a peaceful situation."

Shortly after Mr. Moss cryptically posted an image with an engagement ring on his Instagram account, Erica confirmed with ThisIs50’s Jack Thriller that the wedding is definitely taking place. “Is Bow Wow your boyfriend?,” Thriller asked during the 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards. “Um, he’s actually my fiancé,” Mena replied, flashing the same ring that Moss posted.

If you grew up a rap fan, you probably have at least a couple of fond memories attached to BET's 106 & Park. If you witnessed the AJ and Free era of the show, perhaps you were even raised on it. The 14 year run of the countdown show comes to an end today, at least in its proper televised form, with the announcement that the show will be moved to BET.com as a digital segment.BET's president of musical programming and specials, Stephen Hill addressed the transition in a statement on the station's website, detailing what is to be expected from the show's new form.

Shad Moss, who currently raps as Bow Wow, has announced his retirement from music. Now 29, he told his fans, "I just can't see myself at 30 years old rapping." Before he hangs up the mic for good, he plans to release one more album -- maybe before his 30th birthday on March 9. He revealed that his final album will be called NYLTH (perhaps an acronym) and that it will be executive produced by Snoop Dogg, who was the man who first discovered him and who gave him the name Lil' Bow Wow, which he used for his first two albums.
