It's been documented that protesters in Ferguson were known to shout Lil Boosie lyrics at police officers, confirming that the rapper's voice is of a significant importance to residents of the Southern states. He's always been a political rapper, and those who have studied his immense back catalog are well aware. 

If you've yet to dive deep into Boosie's more revolutionary work, "Hands Up" is a good place to start. The video for the track shows various protest footage, with the title being an obvious reference to the killing of Mike Brown. His new album, Touchdown 2 Cause Hell, is out next week.
