The Best Hip Hop Songs (On Spotify) Of September 2016
Earlier this year, HNHH launched a Spotify playlist called FIRE EMOJI: The Hottest Hip Hop Songs Right Now. The playlist is updated on a daily basis. It lives on Spotify and thus is inherently imperfect, because not all super-hot hip hop songs have been added to Spotify. Still, the playlist is generally representative of the best new releases in hip hop and R&B.
Stream Rob $tone's New Project "I'm Almost Ready"
Rob $tone was introduced to the site last month when Denzel Curry, Boogie, and Cousin Stizz -- three of the most talented youngsters in the game -- all appeared on the remix of his track "Chill Bill." It's the original that's really blowing up, though -- now No. 65 on the Hot 100.

One fall tour to look out for is Denzel Curry's "Black Metal Terrorist" tour, which he announced today. Joining the South Florida XXL Freshman on the tour will be Compton rapper Boogie. Two of our favorite young artists, each with his own sound, together for a 32-date tour. Sounds epic.

HNHH's Picks For The 2016 XXL Freshman List
We, the editors of HNHH, put our heads together this afternoon and picked the 10 artists we deemed most deserving of the 2016 XXL Freshman cover. Tough choices were made. Digital fists of fury were thrown on the HNHH editor email thread. But we feel good about our list. Our list is rock fucking solid. NOTE: according to the official bylaws of XXL, any artist who has released an album on a major label is ineligible for the Freshman cover. Hence, we did not include Bryson Tiller on our list.
Staff Picks Playlist (March 18)
It seems like the tide in the rap game has finally slowed down a bit, after all the theatrics surrounding the release of Kanye West's The Life of Pablo (which is still being amended) and, then, the surprise release of a masterful compilation of outtakes from Kendrick Lamar. Still, on a song-by-song basis, the genre continues to bring us more quality than we can handle.
Breakout Artists Of 2015
Before we get to sharing the bulk of our "best of" lists with you this year, it's time to highlight 2015's biggest surprises and success stories. The fifteen artists we've chosen for our breakout list seem even more diverse than those on last year's list, with different genres, voices, opinions, and even countries being represented here. Some have popped up on our radars in the past few months, others have been grinding for years before getting their big break.

Vote On The Song Of The Summer
Summer's almost here, and as the weather heats up, so does the music. More than any other season, we define summer by our favorite tunes, which usually coincide with our most memorable (or never to be remembered) moments of revelry.
Underrated Audio: June 21- June 27
Underrated Audio aims to provide you with some dope looks from the last seven days, that flew under most peoples' radars. While they may have received front-page placement on HNHH, they didn't get as many views as they deserve, so we shine a little more light on them right here. This past week proved to be pretty fruitful for good music, as we approach summer we are getting plenty of summertime anthems to bump. These particular selections aren't strictly in that lane though, but they definitely cover all bases, from chilled out lazy day vibes to g'd up West Coast music.
Meet Boogie: Rising Rapper From Long Beach, CA
It's that time again, when we introduce you to a new rapper who will soon be making waves in the rap game. After meeting WELL$ back in May, next up for a formal introduction is Calfornia's Boogie. Boogie hasn't released too much music thus far, but that's okay because everything he has dropped is strictly quality.
