Fargo Fridays is back in a big way, as Tory Lanez has unveiled two massive remixes. This one -- to Drake's "Controlla" -- will likely turn more heads due to the inner-city beef that has been simmering between the two multitalented Toronto artists. The dancehall-inspired R&B tune has become a signature of Drake's, and "Controlla" is perhaps the most masterful effort of that cross-genre style that he's released in his career.
Yup, Drake did it again tonight on episode 14 of OVO Sound Radio. Late into his set, after a Nas remix of Future's "March Madness," Drake finally dropped his new single, "Summer Sixteen." And he proceeded to play it 6 times in a row, in honor of his upcoming album Views from the 6.
Real Friends/No More Parties In LA
Kanye West Feat. Kendrick Lamar & Ty Dolla $ign
Kim Kardashian promised us new Yeezy last night, and indeed, her man has exceeded all expectations by dropping two songs in one, both with the potential to be SWISH material. The first is titled "Real Friends," the track Kim hinted at with last night's tweet, and afterwards, there's a surprise collab with Kendrick Lamar and Madlib, "No More Parties in LA."
Pusha T Feat. The-Dream
During the wait for Pusha T's My Name Is My Name, there was a point where Push revealed the entire project would be produced by legendary songwriter The-Dream. In the end, Terius supplied two beats and one hook, and as solid as the rest of the project was, we craved more of those promised collaborations. Today, Push has reunited with Dream on "M.F.T.R.," a record from his upcoming Darkest Before The Dawn album.
Love For You
Joe Budden has been dropping steady heat ahead of All Love Lost, and now that the full stream is at our disposal, it is clear that he was sure to keep some of the album's best tracks under wraps. One such song is Boi-1da-produced "Love For You," the song's final track.
Audio Push Feat. Travis Scott
We haven't heard any new music from Audio Push since July, when they dropped My Turn II, a compilation of remixes of the summer's hottest turn-up cuts. The duo of Oktane and Price have been embarking on a nationwide tour, and they've released 13 vlog episodes to give fans a peek at what life's like on tour.
Since we discovered Devontée with his track "Let It Go" last September, the Toronto native's kept us on the edge of our seats by continuing to up his craft with each ensuing release. His latest, "Juice," is no exception to this rule. Today, we've got the pleasure of premiering it.
Check At (Full Version)
Back in January, LA Leakers premiered a short new Two-9 song called "Check At" that was produced by Boi-1da and Syk Sense, and now we've got the full version of it.
Lil Durk Feat. Jeremih
On "Like Me", Lil Durk brings along fellow Chi-man Jeremih for a track that's too hard for R&B, too sexy for rap. In the end, who really cares? Chicago is brimming with young talent, but for the lead single to Durk's major label debut with Def Jam, he calls upon one of the most seasoned hook-men in the game; though, mind you, Jeremih is only 27, and few younger than him have comparable chops (or libidos).
The Blacker The Berry
While everyone else is still obsessing over last night's Grammy Awards, Kendrick Lamar decides it's the perfect time to drop a new record off his highly anticipated untitled album. "The Blacker The Berry" has K. Dot delivering aggressive and hungry bars over dark production from OVO's go-to Boi-1da (additional production comes from Terrace Martin).
Big Sean Feat. Drake & Kanye West
Big Sean said there was new music coming, and boi did he deliver. Linking back up with Drizzy Drake, Sean decides to liberate this monster Vinylz-produced collab titled "Blessings".
Two 9 - Check At
Following the mayhem year-end lists comes the predictions for the new year. Rather than running another "artists to watch for" list, LA Leakers have provided a mix of some exclusive material from some of their favorite up-and-comers. One of the highlights comes from Atlanta's Two-9, and Atlanta collective that features Curtis Williams as well as two duos, FatKidsBrotha (Johnny & Dave) and Retro Su$h! (CEEJ & Jace).
All Things Go
We're two weeks away from the release of Nicki Minaj's most "important" album to date, The Pinkprint. Consequently, the YMCMB representative is ramping up the project's promotional run, dropping yet another pre-release single. Available for download along with the iTunes pre-order of her new album, "All Things Go" finds Nicki getting personal, rapping about her life's traumas, including the loss of her cousin and receiving an abortion.
Eminem Feat. Slaughterhouse & Yelawolf
As we all await Eminem and Shady Records' Shady XV compilation, the label has dropped off another new track from it. "Psychopath Killer" features Em, Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse, and was produced by the insanely talented team of Just Blaze, Boi-1da & The Maven Boys.
How Bout Now
Last but not least, we get the official version of "How Bout Now", a record that leaked about a week back. This is the third of three records Drizzy shared on his soundcloud today, following "6 God" and "Heat Of The Moment".
Tinashe impressed us with her debut album Aquarius, and now that the album is in stores, one of the producers on "Cold Sweat" has let the song on Soundcloud. Sango has always been a personal favorite, first starting out with his dope remixes of The Weeknd, and now he's progressed to doing production for top-notch artists (but he still does his remix thing too).
Married To The Game
The Game Feat. French Montana, Sam Hook & DUBB
Just a few minutes ago, we posted a track from The Game's upcoming Blood Money compilation Year Of The Wolf, and now yet another has surfaced. On the heels of the Lil Wayne and Chris brown-assisted "Fuck Yo Feelings" comes "Married To The Game," which features Game, French Montana, Sam Hook and DUBB.
Although he hasn't had a full project drop since January's Never Content tape, DUBB has made sure to keep 2014 rife with new music of his, dropping off loosies at an alarming rate. After sharing a remix of DeJ Loaf's "Try Me" yesterday, the L.A.
Realest In The City
P Reign Feat. Meek Mill & PartyNextDoor
Last week, we were very pleased to premiere P Reign's dope Dear America tape, and tomorrow, the T Dot rapper will release a five track EP of the same name on iTunes. Included on there will be "Realest In The City," a track produced by Boi-1da and The Maven Boys and featuring Meek Mill and fellow OVO affiliate PARTYNEXTDOOR.
The Come Up
Bizzy Crook got a big look this year when Kid Ink and King Los took him along on the "My Own Lane" tour, and now he's ready to detail "The Come Up" on a new track. A Boi-1da beat should be enough to convince you to bump this one.
