We posted a B.o.B tape earlier today, but this standout from the mixtape was hot enough to deserve its own song post. “King Tut” has a ton of energy, but Bobby Ray keeps it all simmering just under the surface, spitting rapid fire verses that wouldn’t be out of place on a Lupe Track.
The beat features a fat bass line and some simple keyboard work, but is otherwise fairly sparse. B.o.B raps about a lot things that he thinks about on a day to day basis, touching on topics almost referentially as he snakes through the ideas. It’ll take a few listens to really digest it all, and thankfully the track is dope on the ears as well as the brain.
Even though we named this track the standout, the whole project is absolutely worth a listen.
