Chopped and Screwed is an acquired taste but like beer it's a valuable one for the palette. Houston DJs The Chopstars have taken the proverbial trip to Wakanda and brought their talents to the acclaimed Black Panther: The Album. OG Ron C and DJ Candlestick have previously handled projects like Jay-Z's 4:44, Beyonce's Lemonade, Drake's Views and more. If it's not for you, don't hesitate to dip. If, however, you're amendable to the lost art of Chopping and Screwing, prepare to immerse yourself.

The up-tempo vibes of the TDE curated soundtrack are slowed the hell down, giving the entire project a hazy aesthetic. Voices are pitched down several octaves, and tempos are cut in half. Admittedly, the tribal energy is often lost as a result, leading to some tracks being harder than others. Either way, if you've played out the original album and covet a remix.
