Young New York emcee Bishop Nehru has gifted us with a cut that didn’t make the project he’s currently working on. Self-produced by the 19 year old emcee, “Forever & A Day” follows Nehru as he tells his journey from a young kid listening to Eminem and 50 Cent to the global artist he has become.
The Nehruvian uses loops of traditional guitar, bass, and piano for an old school beat that’s quickly becoming his specialty. As usual, he focuses his attention on the verses, not relying on a catchy or big chorus to carry the song. He even reveals he used to rock a mohawk and leather jacket. Bishop Nehru the punk, who knew?
I was tryna be as big as pun / no puns intended
a young lyrically gifted / artist spitting it splendid
started at thirteen / and I made my attempt then
but didn’t have beats / or cash for me to spend
