Andrea Constand, one of Bill Cosby's 60 accusers, reportedly called her mother in 2005 to tell her that she was sexually assaulted by Bill Cosby a year prior. New reports via TMZ now saw say that Bill's lawyers don't want the jury to hear the phone call.
Jury selection for the 80-year-old's re-trial is taking place on April 2nd and Bill is facing charges of sexual assault against Andrea, but he has pleaded not guilty.
The phone call hears Andrea telling her mother that she was drugged and molested by Bill, but his lawyers say this all "hearsay" that the jury does not need to hear. Andrea and her mother Gianna already testified about the call in the first trial that unfortunately ended in a mistrial.
The Associated Press previously gave details on the pretrial, where prosecutors urged the judge to let 19 women speak about Bill's assault to show that he “systematically engaged in a signature pattern of providing an intoxicant to his young female victim[s] and then sexually assaulting [them] when [they] became incapacitated.”
Bill's lawyers argued that some of the allegations date back to 1960 and are impossible to defend against being that some witnesses are dead and memories are faded.
Bill is facing up to 10 years behind bars if found guilty in the upcoming trial.
