12 Self-Produced Hip Hop Albums to Hear
MCs and producers are traditionally two different people, but occasionally the hip hop world is blessed with an artist that can play both roles. Dr. Dre once claimed to be a "a producer who can rap and control the maestro," and when he said it, there weren't a whole bunch of dudes who were capable of doing it. Since then, artists like MF DOOM, Kanye West, and J. Cole have made some serious beats, and then blessed them with their own flow.

Review: Dizzy Wright's "The Growing Process"
On Dizzy Wright's second studio album The Growing Process, the 24-year old rapper makes an attempt at honing in his focus as an artist by establishing a moral constitution for his music to adhere to until further notice. For the most part, this is goal is met by the young upstart. While some tracks fall flat, there are definite instances in which Wright is able to spread his personal gospel in a digestible fashion.

Even after being diagnosed with diabetes almost 30 years ago, King pursued a relentless touring schedule, often performing 300 shows per year. Today, hip hop mourns the loss of one of America's true musical mavericks. Read artists' reactions to the news below.

Charts Don’t Lie: November 30
This week on the charts proves to be rather uneventful, as there are no new entries to speak of, although G-Eazy was able to re-enter with These Things Happen. Cadillactica, on the other hand, experienced a steep drop from its top 5 debut.
Charts Don’t Lie: November 23
Big K.R.I.T. lands himself a strong debut for his sophomore effort Cadillactica, sliding into the Billboard 200's top 5 at #5. This happens to be the same debut as his first LP, Live From The Underground, although Krizzle upped his numbers this time, ever so slightly, moving 44,000 units. Live From The Underground did 41,000. That's definitely a respectable starting place for a rapper who refused to make anything too radio-friendly, or to deviate from his concept.

Late last week, we heard that Big K.R.I.T.'s newly-released album Cadillactica was on pace to sell 35,000 to 40,000 copies in its first week, which isn't bad in 2014. Well, the official numbers are in now, and Krizzle's surpassed those expectations by a hair. He moved 42,302 units, beating his Live From The Underground sales by just over 1,000 copies.
