Moonshine Bandits are a Californian duo known for their unique brand of country rap. The duo, made up of members Dusty “Tex” Dahlgren and Brett “Bird” Brooks, have recently joined forces with fellow California rapper, Berner, for their new single "Gold Rush."
As the title suggests, the song is an ode to the Golden State. Tex told HipHopDX, “[the song] is a California anthem and our version of the Wild West." He went on to say, “out here on the West, we aren’t just about surfboards and Hollywood. We have more than just that. We wanted somebody that has a big name that was from Cali, so we reached out to Big Bern." Berner was evidently enthusiastic about the collaboration and according to Tex, sent back his verse the same day that the song was sent to him.
The song comes ahead of the release of Moonshine's album Gold Rush on October 5th. Give it a listen below.
