"The Batman" will focus on a younger Bruce Wayne.

Ben Affleck has been playing the DC Comics superhero Batman for the last couple of movies now, but it seems as though the next film in the series, The Batman, will be taking a different approach and will be swapping out Affleck for a younger actor. This is because they want to focus on the younger life of Bruce Wayne and his life as a detective. Right now the film is slated for a June 25th, 2021 release date and the director Matt Reeves recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter where he discussed the film's plot.

"What's exciting about Batman is how it relates to now and also how personal it can be,” Reeves explained. "It's very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It's told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it's going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It's more Batman in his detective mode than we've seen in the films. The comics have a history of that."

In addition to The Batman, a follow-up to 2016's Suicide Squad is on the way and will be directed by James Gunn who is known for his work with Marvel and Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Are you looking forward to the new film?
