August Alsina’s sophomore album campaign looks to finally be underway. With his lead single "Why I Do It,” featuring Lil Wayne picking up momentum, the New Orleans crooner decided to share the album title on Instagram Monday night.

Due out later this year, the follow up to Testimony will allegedly be called This Thing Called Life. In a couple clips shared on Instagram, August can be seen in the studio with hitmaker DJ Khaled, who talks extremely highly of the album. Calling August an “icon,” Khaled praised him for the sequence he heard throughout the album, comparing it to some of the all-time greats.

“I love the way you sequenced the album. The only other times Ive heard that was like a Dr. Dre Chronic or Nas’ Illmatic.” – Khaled tells August

No release date has been set yet for the album, but August did confirm the other day that it's all finished. We’ll keep you posted as more information surfaces. Check out the IG clips below.
