Though Atmosphere hasn't released an album in almost two years, the duo of Slug and Ant continue to drop new tracks on the regular. Today, they've shared their second track of the year, "Trying to Fly," which follows last month's "Salma Hayek." The new song features Eric Mayson, a singer-songwriter also from the Twin Cities.
"Trying to Fly" is a moody track documenting an existential crisis. The production sounds refreshingly organic, and Slug's wordplay rings with more intensity as the live instruments layer on top of one another. It's heavy, reflective material that should be appreciated by all longtime Rhymesayers fans.
