A$AP Ferg: "Cozy Tapes" "Should Be Out Real Soon"
Before his death, A$AP Yams was working on a project called the Cozy Tapes that would pool the talents of A$AP Mob. Rocky has compared it to Ruff Ryders’ Ryde or Die Vol. 1 and The Diplomats’ Diplomatic Immunity. In an interview with AllHipHop, A$AP Ferg shared an update on the highly anticipated compilation mixtape.
Summer Jam 2016 Recap
“SEVERE WEATHER ALERT: A storm is expected to hit between 6:00pm – 7:30pm. For your safety, please seek shelter in your vehicles.” Thus began Summer Jam 2016.
Steez Day Line-Up Includes Pro Era, ASAP Mob, Danny Brown & More
The other week, Joey Bada$$ revealed that the annual Steez Day, a music festival honoring his late Pro Era member Capital Steez, would be relocating from Brooklyn to L.A. this year. We didn't have the line-up at that time, but with tickets going on sale tomorrow at Noon, Joey has just unveiled the artists this morning.
Skepta's "Konnichiwa" (Review)
In the spoken word interlude that follows Konnichiwa's third track, "Corn On The Curb," North London MC Chip attempts to cheer up a tired and confused-sounding Skepta, at one point saying, "We ain't seen nothing like this happen before. Who's seen the country flip on its head like this, fam?" What Chip's referring to, of course, is the latter rapper's meteoric rise in the past two years, not just within his own home country, but also in a region where UK rap has historically struggled: the US.
Review: A$AP Ferg's "Always Strive And Prosper"
There are three rappers who blew up in the early 2010s that I've always grouped together in my head, though they do hail from different corners of the country and are some of the most enigmatic artists currently working in hip hop. The categorization's based mostly on first impressions, which is unfair, but also on realizing that those impressions were wrong.
A$AP Bari & A$AP Rocky Launch VLONE x Off-White Collaboration
A$AP Bari of the A$AP Mob might not be a rapper, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t making moves like the rest of the mob. After debuting his VLONE collection back in 2014, he and A$AP Rocky are in the midst of an even bigger launch.
A$AP TyY To Release Debut Mixtape "Best Kept Secret" This Evening
Wavy Wednesday has been a reliable source of heat for the last few weeks now. These releases have come courtesy of A$AP Mob's heavy artillery -- A$AP Rocky, Ferg, Twelvyy, Nast, etc. This time, it'll be the debut mixtape of lesser known Mob member A$AP TyY.
A$AP Nast Calls Out Supreme For Stealing His Concepts & Designs
Yesterday we shared Supreme’s new collaboration with The North Face (naturally, it’s already sold out), and the collection was pretty dope. However, it looks like Supreme might have made some sketchy maneuvers while producing the Steep Tech collection.
ASAP Twelvyy Announces "‘2127301090" Mixtape
The ASAP Mob is busy in 2016. Just last week, we received the release date for ASAP Ferg's highly-anticipated sophomore album, meanwhile, the Cozy Boys Vol. 1 compilation is apparently on its way, and at the same time, the Mob are releasing new records every week as part of their Wavy Wednesdays series.
ASAP Ferg Announces "Always Strive & Prosper" Release Date, Teases ScHoolboy Q Collab
So far, everything we've heard about ASAP Ferg's upcoming studio album, Always Strive And Proper, has sounded pretty exciting, from the features to the ambitious production techniques, so we're happy to receive the official release date today. Taking to Instagram, ASAP's resident Trap Lord revealed that his highly anticipated project will be available on April 22nd, with a pre-order going up March 25th.
A$AP Twelvyy & A$AP Ant Go In On Troy Ave
Yesterday, Troy Ave called into “Sway in the Morning” to speak on his Joey Bada$$ diss, but ended up doing more damage via some pretty heartless comments about the late Capital STEEZ. Joey himself hasn’t responded yet, but their friends in A$AP Mob most certainly heard Troy Ave’s comments, and they did not take kindly to their deceased friend being dissed.
A$AP Rocky Announces "Wavy Wednesdays"
Last Wednesday, Rocky shared a new record from Playboi Carti, a promising new member of the A$AP team, as well as the video to A$AP Twelvyy's new single, "L.Y.B.B." -- both via Twitter.
ASAP Rocky Covers GQ Germany
Earlier today, we saw Justin Bieber's first-ever cover for GQ, and now GQ Germany's cover star has been revealed to be none other than ASAP Rocky. While he's been featured in the pages of GQ, this is also his first cover story, and while it's not as big a look as the American issue, it's still a pretty big flex.
Staff Picks Playlist (January 29)
The week is finally, almost, over. That doesn't mean Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa's beef has subsided yet though, with Kanye attempting to clear his name in the #FingersInTheBootyAssBitch scandal, and Wiz continuing to take aim at Ye during live shows. It's amusing and entertaining, to say the least.
Top Tracks: January 18 - January 24
With new projects from Future and Meek Mill -- and upcoming ones from Wiz Khalifa, Young Thug, and last but not least, Kanye West, the energy coming from the hip-hop world is out of control right now. New tracks off both 4/4 and Purple Reign crashed this week's Top 10, along with predictably dominating performances from both of Kanye's SWISH singles.
A$AP Ferg's Album Will Drop In February
A$AP Ferg has had a busy week. After absolutely killing it at Yams Day, the A$AP Mob rapper and producer sat down with Revolt TV to discuss his new album and Adidas collection.
Beef Over? A$AP Rocky & Travi$ Scott Appear In Photo Together
Despite some very heated words being thrown at Travi$ Scott by some of A$AP Rocky’s affiliates, Pretty Flacko never got involved. Instead, he opted to use the beef as a way to change how fans evaluate an artist and how influence works in the hip hop world.
Yams Day 2016 Recap
The inaugural Yams Day got off to an inauspicious start, as a shortage of security guards led to a bottleneck at the entrance to Manhattan's Terminal 5, thus forcing thousands of eager fans to wait outside the venue for an hour or more, in a temperature that can only be described as cold-as-balls.
ASAP Rocky & ASAP Ferg To Voice "Animals" On HBO Animated Series
HBO is getting ready to a launch a new animated series called "Animals" and hip-hop fans have two big reasons to watch. Both ASAP Rocky and ASAP Ferg will be lending their voices to the show, which will New York City creatures like rats, pigeons, and dogs. No word on which animals the Mob boys will be supplying the voices for, but we're sure they'll have some pretty hilarious dialogue. The large roster of guests scheduled for the show is made up primarily of comedians, with Marc Maron, Nick Kroll, and Wanda Sykes also on board to voice characters.
