Charts Don't Lie: November 16
It's a good week for those who dig the soulful side of hip hop music, with Alicia Keys' new album HERE debuting at the #2 spot and Common's Black America Again debuting at #25 with his latest LP. Rae Sremmurd have managed to soar back up the charts with help from the viral success of their single "Black Beatles," while our mainstay, Drake, comes in #8 at with VIEWS. ASAP Mob's "Cozy Tapes Vol. 1" (Review)
Group albums and mixtapes are a bit like ensemble comedies: eclectic groups of stars are given equal screen time, plot and cohesion oftentimes take a backseat to laughs, and there's far more clunkers than classics in each category. For every "Tropic Thunder," there's two or three "Grown Ups"; for every Diplomatic Immunity, there's an Eminem Presents: The Re-Up and a DJ Khaled album.
Charts Don't Lie: November 9
Each of this week's top four albums are debuts, including Jeezy at #1 and Meek Mill at #3. Drake and the Suicide Squad soundtrack also make it into the top 10, while A$AP Mob just misses the mark by coming in at #13. Travis Scott and Rihanna slip a few spots with their respective efforts, while Rae Sremmurd and 21 Savage/Metro Boomin continue to climb the charts with theirs. D.R.A.M. slips from #19 to #32 with his full-length debut, and Chance The Rapper also slipped out of the top 30 by coming in at #35 this time around. ***
Vote: Who Had The Best Project Of October 2016?
At the beginning of August, less than two weeks after Everybody Looking, Gucci Mane announced that Woptober would be his follow-up album, basically claiming the month of October for himself. Little did he know that the month would be filled with top-notch projects from his peers; to be fair, Woptober is still in the running for the month's best, though it's a tight race.
The Best Hip Hop Songs (On Spotify) Of October 2016
Earlier this year, HNHH launched a Spotify playlist called FIRE EMOJI: The Hottest Hip Hop Songs Right Now. The playlist is updated on a daily basis. It lives on Spotify and thus is inherently imperfect, because not all super-hot hip hop songs have been added to Spotify. Still, the playlist is generally representative of the best new releases in hip hop and R&B.
The 5 Best Features On A$AP Mob's "Cozy Tapes Vol. 1"
The subtitle of A$AP Mob's Cozy Tapes, Vol. 1 is Friends, and while the term could easily apply to the deep-running companionship of the group itself, the Mob have decided to include some collaborators from outside of the core group.
Top Tracks: October 24 - October 30
For the past few years it's been clear that regardless of quality, everything Drake announces or releases is guaranteed to produce more pageviews on HNHH than any of his contemporaries. We've known this for a while and capitalized upon it a few times, which many of you have noticed and decried, but hey, you're still clicking on it. Drizzy dropped four tracks on OVO Sound Radio last weekend and nothing has changed, despite the fact that they did arrive too late for last week's Top Tracks list.
Stream A$AP Mob's "Cozy Tapes, Vol. 1: Friends"
The first installment of the Cozy Tapes, brought to you by the A$AP Mob, has finally arrived. The idea of the Cozy Tapes was first conceived by the collective's creative director, the A$AP Yams, and he was working on putting together the first tape -- a fresh compilation from the Mob -- before his tragic death almost two years ago. Over the last month, Rocky has spearheaded an aggressive rollout for the inaugural edition of the Cozy Tapes, and it's been presented as Cozy Tapes, Vol. 1: Friends.

Top Tracks: October 3 - October 9
Barring The Weeknd's Starboy and any late-year surprises, we don't seem to have a whole lot coming on the release calendar as fall settles in. Gucci Mane's Woptober, Anderson .Paak and Knxledge's Yes Lawd! under their Nxworries title, and D.R.A.M.'s debut album Big Baby D.R.A.M. are all coming later this month, but compared to the summer we just had, that's small potatoes.
Atlanta Rapper Uno The Activist Reportedly Shot

There are basically no details on the shooting at this time, and it's unclear if an investigation is underway.
Staff Picks Playlist (October 7)
This week started out slow, at least when it comes to new songs, although news has been poppin since the week began-- although it wasn't the necessarily good news. Kim Kardashian was robbed and held at gunpoint, driving multiple reports following the incident, and we also saw a couple rappers get hacked: J.

Kid Cudi Puts Haters On Blast, Names Drake & Kanye West
Kid Cudi was feeling himself this afternoon, when he went off on a little twitter rant, thanking his supporters and blasting any detractors. The rapper has been cited by many artists among the 'new wave' as inspiration and influence, rightly so, given that a lot of these artists were getting into hip-hop (they are young) around the time Cudder was popping off, which is also around the time the blogsophere was starting to pop off.

It's a good time for this n*gga," said Rocky at a recent show, as Carti stood beside him. "Just got signed to Interscope and shit. He 'bout to fuck shit up."
