Fans caught some bad news earlier this week when A$AP Rocky announced that his debut solo LP LongLiveA$AP is held up due to mastering and sample clearance and will not be released until 2013.  Recently, he has spoken in length about his album, and says the sound is a change from his mixtapes, and feels that he has grown as an artist and is more open to collaborating with artists like Kendrick Lamar and Drake.  He also addressed certain people not embracing his sound, and how he is fine with that.

In an interview with HardKnockTV, Rocky explained that he is staying true to his original sound which fans have grown to love, but it has developed even more, he says, via HHDX, “It's a big difference [between my mixtape and album]," he explained. "It's maturity - I'm matured, the content is a little different, it's a lot of the same sounds. I'm just experimenting, and it's really like what I do, just my music all in a capsule.”

The A$AP Mob frontman released a huge single called “Fuckin’ Problem” off his upcoming album which featured Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and 2 Chainz, and says in the past he probably would have avoided such a collabo, “in my original form, I wouldn't have done a song with Drake, 2 Chainz and Kendrick [Lamar]…but for this one, I'd do that 'cus that's the state that I'm in right now.”

Rocky realizes the frustration he’s caused fans in the past with delaying projects, but it is important to him that he stays true to himself as an artist.  The Harlem talent knows that not everyone will embrace his style, “my music is not for everybody to like. I don't care if I'm supposed to be politically correct and sell albums; I'm not a politician and really and truly, I'm not a salesman, that's what the label is for.” He adds, “I'm just an artist and what I do is what feels good to me, so if you don't like it, go listen to somebody else."

Although his LP has been pushed back to 2013, fans can expect an A$AP Rocky mixtape sometime this winter.
