Drake Talks Sh*t, Kills With Softness At Madison Square Garden (Review)
All along, it seems like “Summer Sixteen,” Drake’s first single of the year, not included on VIEWS, was designed to be his heated opener during his tour of the same name, which hit Madison Square Garden last night for the first of four shows at the elite Manhattan arena. Though billed as a co-headlining tour with Future, make no mistake -- this was Drake’s show, and Drake’s audience.
A$AP Ferg Reveals "Still Striving" Project Coming "Very Soon"
ASAP Ferg's sophomore album, Always Strive And Prosper, was released earlier this year, gathering guest appearances from various generations of rap history, and finding Ferg at his most personal and reflective yet. As ambitious as the project was, Ferg apparently has even more music on the way this year -- a full project, in fact.
A$AP Ferg: "Cozy Tapes" "Should Be Out Real Soon"
Before his death, A$AP Yams was working on a project called the Cozy Tapes that would pool the talents of A$AP Mob. Rocky has compared it to Ruff Ryders’ Ryde or Die Vol. 1 and The Diplomats’ Diplomatic Immunity. In an interview with AllHipHop, A$AP Ferg shared an update on the highly anticipated compilation mixtape.
Behind The Beat: Honorable C-Note
Over 15 years into his career, Honorable C-Note is just starting to get comfortable. He's become known as a master of suspense, lending thundering arrangements, or "scores," as he calls them, to some of the best talent in Atlanta, where he's resided for 10 years now. More recently, he's produced monsters for each of the two leading members of the A$AP Mob. His compositions are a recipe for goosebumps -- hearing shrill strings crawl atop a chorus of doomsday horns while A$AP Ferg howls about "bedbugs in the motel" on "New Level" gets me every time.
Summer Jam 2016 Recap
“SEVERE WEATHER ALERT: A storm is expected to hit between 6:00pm – 7:30pm. For your safety, please seek shelter in your vehicles.” Thus began Summer Jam 2016.

ASAP Ferg Speaks On His Uncle "Psycho" & Working At Ben & Jerry's
ASAP Ferg has been busy touring with Tory Lanez for their joint "Level Up" tour, and during a recent pit stop in D.C., he took the time to sit down with Baker for an interview about the album that preceded the tour, Always Strive and Prosper. The album found Ferg opening up and trying a variety of musical styles; the latter of which earned him some mixed reviews, but nonetheless it proved he's not a one-trick pony.
10 Essential Clams Casino Tracks
There is something wondrous about the music of Clams Casino. It's hard to believe that the he was once a physical therapist student making beats on the side for fun. Indeed, he does not think like ordinary producers. "To find things to sample, I used to just type a random word-- like "blue" or "cold"-- into LimeWire or BearShare and download the first 10 results," he told Pitchfork in a 2011 interview.
Who's Going On Tour? Spring/Summer Tour Round-Up
A lot of big artists are going on tour this spring and summer. You have mega-stars like Beyonce, Rihanna, and Drake. You have rising stars Anderson .Paak and Bas. You have established vets like Snoop Dogg, Maxwell, and Cam'Ron. And everybody in between. It looks like some legendary tours are going down towards the end of the calendar year. Gucci Mane & Friends tour is scheduled to go down when La Flare gets released from prison in September and Kanye West is also shooting to kick off his The Life of Pablo tour in September as well.
Top Tracks: April 25 - May 1
We've officially entered the whirlwind release period of 2016, with hip hop's (arguably) biggest current male and female stars, Drake and Beyoncé, both dropping projects in the past ten days. What's more, Chance 3 should be dropping any moment now.
Review: A$AP Ferg's "Always Strive And Prosper"
There are three rappers who blew up in the early 2010s that I've always grouped together in my head, though they do hail from different corners of the country and are some of the most enigmatic artists currently working in hip hop. The categorization's based mostly on first impressions, which is unfair, but also on realizing that those impressions were wrong.

What a tumultuous last few days it's been. Reports of Prince's sudden passing rocked us on Thursday, but then hours later we got a new A$AP Ferg album. About 48 hours after that, Lemonade arrived, effectively shutting down everything else on the internet at the time.

Is it just me, or have the past few weeks felt like the calm before the storm? After all of the TLOP hubbub died down (this is the first week in a long time that we haven't had a Kanye solo joint in our top ten list), we've had quite a lack of releases from rap's upper echelon. Teasers, singles, and release date announcements seem to keep flooding in, but this Friday, when A$AP Ferg releases Always Strive And Prosper, things will really get cooking.
Listen To A Preview Of A$AP Ferg & Missy Elliot's "Strive"
Judging by what the rapper's been saying about it in interviews, we knew ASAP Ferg's upcoming album, Always Strive and Prosper, was going to be an ambitious move, and the varied list of contributors seemed to suggest it would be an eclectic batch, but the more we hear from it, the more it's clear that it's going to be even weirder than expected (in a good way, of course).
Top Tracks: April 4 - April 10
On last week's edition of Top Tracks, Drake locked down the highest two spots with new leaks, and appeared once more as a guest on PartyNextDoor's "Come And See Me," which landed at number eight. If you thought that was impressive, wait til you see this week's. The 6 God controls half of this week's list, despite the fact that all versions that appear on here are unofficial leaks.

ASAP Ferg Reveals "Always Strive & Prosper" Tracklist
ASAP Ferg has been speaking fairly candidly about the guests on his upcoming sophomore album, Always Strive & Prosper, in the months leading up to its release, but somehow we still weren't prepared for the large and diverse range of names on the tracklist, revealed today via Instagram.Among those featured on the album are Skrillex, Missy Elliott, ScHoolboy Q, Rick Ross, Lil Uzi Vert, Big Sean, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Chuck D, and "Mama Ferg".

A$AP Ferg and Tory Lanez are going on tour. Ferg and Lanez will co-headline the "Level Up" tour, a 25-city trek that kicks off May 18 in Philadelphia and wraps up on June 24 in Boston. They spent at least one night at SXSW making music at Lanez' mansion in the countryside, and it sounds like they have a special joint set figured out.
