HNHH's "Underrated Audio" puts you on not-too-mainstream music you might have missed from the past week.
This week we see Tyga make an entry onto the charts, while Tyler, the Creator, whose album dropped last week, fell quite a bit from his impressive #3 debut. Tyga's Hotel California is definitely a venture into the more typical sound that has defined Tyler's career, with plenty of DJ Mustard-esque beats and the accompanying flow.
Underrated Audio aims to provide you with some dope looks from the last seven days, that flew under most peoples' radars. While they may have received front-page placement on HNHH, they didn't get as many views as they deserve, so we shine a little more light on them right here.
The past two weeks were dominated by Drake, who in turn dominated the charts with Nothing Was The Same. Now Justin Timberlake has taken over, with the release of The 20/20 Experience 2, his second album in the span of a year, and his second album to debut at #1 in that same time.
Pattern recognition: utilizing data to classify the present and better predict the future. For those of you following the charts week in and week out pattern recognition is a discipline worth employing. On an elementary level it reveals the fact that big names sell, female fans buy, and strong singles provide additional reach. However, an increasingly analytical
This week r'n'b singer and hit-maker extraordinaire, The-Dream, enters the charts with his latest effort, IV Play. The-Dream is an interesting artist to analyze, because while he creates hits on top of hits for tons artists in the game, his own fan-base is much smaller, yet extremely devout to the singer.
Battle rap is quickly growing as a culture. What was almost completely relegated to street corners and Youtube a few years ago has garnered national recognition, more tv programming, Pay-Per-View events, and other attention of the mainstream media. Hip Hop icons like Eminem and Snoop Dogg have put on events for the battle scene and at this rate things can only continue to expand.
For hip-hop aficionados, out of all the glorious things it has done, the Internet has most importantly allowed the entire music industry to change. Instead of waiting for labels to promote the hottest new artist and go through painstaking processes to find them, Tweets, Facebook shares, YouTube videos allow every musician, big or small, to be heard.
Four tracks this week for you to enjoy, if you haven't already. Phil Ade- Hatin (Faded Remix) Phil Ade takes on Tyga's “Faded” and turns it into “Hatin” for all his haters (and fans too). I hope we get a new Phil Ade project soon. Sir Michael Rocks- Chill Feat. Like (of Pac Div)
Check out some underground/slept-on tunes you may have missed last week. Ro Ransom- Temperature
This week Trey Songz's Trigga makes its debut on the Billboard 200 at #1, giving Trey his second #1 album in a row, following up Chapter V. Although Chapter V sold more records in its opening week (135k), Trigga came close under it with 105k. That's still a respectable follow up-- something we unfortunately cannot say about Robin Thicke.
Business moves quick, and that's no exception for the rap world. From the hottest new signings, to movie deals, to album pushbacks, the industry is constantly in motion. It can be hard to keep up with at times, so we've consolidated all of the must-hear information from the past month, all in one place.

This week we see Wiz Khalifa’s O.N.I.F.C. debut at #2, just as his last album, Rolling Papers did. However, the numbers don’t exactly add up-- O.N.I.F.C. sold less than Rolling Papers. While Rolling Papers may have been considered a commercial success, according to die-hard TGOD fans, it was far cry from what they knew and loved about Wiz. O.N.I.F.C.
This week we await the official numbers for Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience, which is projected to sell huge amounts (750-800k), and will no doubt take over Charts Don’t Lie for a period of time. Next week will also have Lil Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being II dropping, which is also sure to make a splash on the charts in the coming week. This week however, we see hardly any

HNHH Does BET Green Carpet With Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Yo Gotti, Bone Thugs & More (Part 1) Oct 2, 2013 at 09:32am 171 Views
HNHH hit up the BET Hip Hop Awards this Sunday, and we got our very own Broady The Joker to tear up the Green Carpet for some interviews. We talked to Nelly about his new album, asked Snoop about getting into stand-up, as well as hanging out with Cash Out, Tiara Thomas, Yo Gotti, August Alsina, Lola Monroe and more!
This week Drake is knocked from his pedestal ever so slightly, as Big Sean's new album Dark Sky Paradise is ushered in at #1. Drake moves to #4, which still isn't a bad look, considering he's above rivals Chris Brown and Tyga. Fan of a Fan didn't move as much as you might expect two mainstream stars to sell-- with just over 50k in pure sales opening week.
It was a good week for Underrated Audio. See below for the awesome tracks from last week that didn't get played as much as they should.Ab-Soul- SOPA Feat. ScHoolboy Q With Kendrick Lamar blowing up and ScHoolboy Q next up, Ab-Soul is oft over-looked in the TDE camp (along with Jay Rock). Anyways, I think that will soon change when he
50 Cent entered the Billboard 200 this week, with Animal Ambition moving more than the projected amount, although it's still not the numbers Fif used to do. It's independent numbers though, with a showing of 47,000 units. It will likely be quiet on the charts until we approach June 24th, when we've got multiple albums, including ones from Ab-Soul and Riff Raff, dropping.
The Grammys had a positive effect in terms of album sales, as those nominated and those who won both received a boost in the past seven days. Despite Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city not taking home a Grammy, the rapper still saw a spike in his sales and an almost twenty-spot jump up the charts.
With the hectic-ness that was HOT 97's Summer Jam UA was missing from the site last week. Nonetheless, today we return in full force looking back at tracks that were posted within the past fourteen days instead of seven, because as usual, more than a few dope cuts have gone overlooked. From the still-slept-on song-maker The-Dream, to rising New York rapper Mr.
French Montana joins Charts Don't Lie this week, with his debut album Excuse My French. French, Diddy and the whole Bad Boy team went hard with promo for this one, rounded up the biggest features in the game, but the album wasn't able to move more than 50k opening week.
Perhaps Snoop made a poor career choice by switching from hip hop to reggae. If he truly wanted to move units he should consider an R&B persona. Rhythm and Blues singers have been performing mightily on these charts as of late, but this week they took over fully. Only one “Hip Hop” album managed to move any significant
