For this week's Top 10, we're counting down the hottest new collabos because teamwork makes the dream work.
The other week we got producer Jahlil Beats to do some of our work for us, and list his Top 10 producers of all time. It was an interesting glimpse into the mind and the influences of the young producer, as he cited plenty of seasoned producers and let us know his favorite to ever do it was Swizz Beatz.
June 18th might as well have been Christmas Day for hip-hop fans. Kanye West’s highly anticipated album Yeezus finally hit the shelves. Determined to go against one of the heavyweights of rap, J. Cole decided to move up his sophomore album Born Sinner to compete with West.
Exclusive: Tech N9ne Responds To Being On Billboard's Power 30 List, Talks "E.B.A.H." & More Oct 2, 2012 at 01:42 PM 5,535 Views
Tech N9ne is making big moves, and he hasn't had help from any commercial cats. The Kansas City rapper has been grinding since the 90s, and it seems that hard work does really pay off. He was on Billboard's Power 30 list the year, and released his twelfth studio album, Welcome to Strangeland, almost a year ago, which landed at #26 on Billboard's 200.
Sir Michael Rocks is not new when it comes to this rapping thing. He's been doing it for almost ten years now, yet he can still be considered a young'n at the current age of 26 (and in fact, he's often grouped in with the young'ns, something we discuss during our interview). When he started out with Chuck Inglish as The Cool Kids back in 2005, he was too ahead of his time.

No truer words have ever been uttered than the ones Method Man said of Ol' Dirty Bastard on their legendary 36 Chambers album. ODB is truly one of a kind, with absolutely no father to his style. With a name as crazy as his flow, Ol' Dirty Bastard took the world by storm during his 10 year hip-hop takeover.
UK artist, Bipolar Sunshine, released "Daydreamer" this November. He's been on the rise lately, and will even be sharing the stage with artists like A$AP Mob, London Grammar, Rudimental and Bastille, when his touring season kicks off in March.
Rapper, Lyricist, Rhymesayer. All labels for one person: the MC. The MC not only has many different aliases but comes with many different personalities: the gangster, the conscious individual, the partygoer, the player, the everyperson.
Nas' first four albums famously wore portraits of the MC in a different light. He was a kid on Illmatic. He was an adult on It Was Written. He was a pharaoh on I Am... He was Nostradamus on Nastradamus.
Beyonce beat the system with the unexpected drop of her fifth, self-titled album, which shocked the internet, the media and music fans alike. Although B's team had recently told us to expect an album soon, (Ne-Yo almost ruined the surprise as well), no one suspected it would happen this soon.
Maybach: over a century old now this luxury automobile brand will soon cease production for the second time during its illustrious reign. From tanks to trains, and of course Exelero’s and Landaulet’s, Maybach has a history to be proud of. That said their legacy in the rap game is just beginning.Rick Ross began utilizing the moniker for his music group in 2008.
2013 has been a pretty crazy year for albums. We saw many rappers trying to create the biggest "event" around their projects-- whether it be Jay Z's Samsung rollout, Kanye West's projections, Eminem's SuperBowl announcement, or Drake's omni-presence of new tracks.

Not much to explain here, just something (sort of) festive for the holiday. Who doesn't enjoy a good Thanksgiving twerk? We hope that Miley Cyrus one doesn't turn you off turkey completely though.

Dom Kennedy is following up his acclaimed (and free) Yellow Album with Get Home Safely, an iTunes project dropping October 15th. Dom's let go the artwork and tracklist, and just last week he let go the track "Dominic" off the LP as well as a "South Central Love" visual, but aside from that, he's been keeping the records on lock.

In celebration of Father's Day, we've compiled a photo gallery of 25 emcees with their children. Some of them have been in the game for years and have built large families. Others are new parents with a long way to go, among them Jay-Z, King Los and Kanye West, who brought a child into the world this weekend, just in time for Father's Day 2013.
Chaining days have always been a great ritual in hip-hop. So much so, that Kanye West made it the grande finale of his music video for "Through The Wire", his first major single. Last night bossman Jay Z of ROCNATION presented J. Cole with an original Roc-A-Fella chain. A sign of respect and gift for the 29th birthday of the rapper. Do you remember who else has a Roc-A-Fella chain?
What a week it has been in hip-hop. It's a week that got kicked off with tragedy. It's going to take some time for the wound that A$AP Yams left us to heal. But the game still continues just like he would've wanted. The back half of January saw strong releases from Lupe Fiasco and Joey Bada$$. Lil Wayne's Sorry 4 The Wait 2 has gotten a mixed response, but at least one rapper approves.
After doing a ticket giveaway for the West Coast tour dates as part of Joey Bada$$'s "B4.DA.MONEY" tour, we, of course, had to bring things back to the East Coast for Joey's home show in the coming weeks.
