A visual for Rihanna's "Pour It Up" single is in the works.
With voting happening today all around the United Stated, celebrities and musicians have been outspoken on who they're supporting in order to garner more votes for their Presidential candidate.
NBA contests can be some of the most heated competitions in all of sports. Incredible abilities and enormous egos clash on the biggest of stages on a nightly basis. With so much adrenaline, testosterone, and sheer will power, it's only natural for elbows to be thrown, flagrant fouls to occur and occasionally, brawls to break out.
For the past two weeks, we've been polling you on your favorite versions of popular tracks. Last week Kevin Gates (somewhat surprisingly) took the cake in the "Cut Her Off" battle, and the week prior, G-Unit won the "0 To 100" contest by a landslide.
Rappers are storytellers of the modern age. The media often misunderstands these narrators of society, but future generations will recognize them as windows into the past. Truly talented rappers have the ability to connect with people through their words, which may or may not be written down prior to the stage of recording.
HNHH Awards: Trinidad James, Jeremih, Yo Gotti, Problem & More Choose "Rapper Most Likely to Be..." Jul 4, 2013 at 01:44pm 11,884 Views
HNHH attended the 2013 BET Awards this past weekend, and while there we decided to give out some of our own awards.
This week we have two new-comers on Charts Don't Lie, the first being buzzing singer Jhene Aiko and the latter, veteran in the game, Bun B. Jhene Aiko pulled pretty good numbers for her debut EP, leaving us hopeful for what's to come from the West Coast native.
Last week we saw PARTYNEXTDOOR make a relatively strong debut on the Billboard 200, however he has not maintained his ranking this week, having fallen below Billboard's top 100. We've got one new entry this week, coming from the underground crew signed to Tech N9ne's Strange Music, Ces Cru. They were able to sell just over 6k, making a debut at #40.
In celebration of Father's Day, we've compiled a photo gallery of 25 emcees with their children. Some of them have been in the game for years and have built large families. Others are new parents with a long way to go, among them Jay-Z, King Los and Kanye West, who brought a child into the world this weekend, just in time for Father's Day 2013.
Of the dozens of rappers debated as the G.O.A.T dead or alive, Nas's name probably comes up with the most frequency behind The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac (maybe ahead depending on the source).
Chris Lighty, CEO Of Violator Records & Management, Passes Away Aug 30, 2012 at 01:57pm 11,505 Views
Twitter is often the fastest news source, although not always reliable. Trending this afternoon was the news of the death of Chris Lighty, who is the CEO Violator Records & Management, which oversees many popular rap stars. This time though, Twitter's trending topic was accurate. Chris Lighty has passed away. Chris Lighty managed such artists as Busta Rhymes, Soulja Boy, Mariah Carey,
The rap game is still buzzing as we head into the final weeks of the year and await for the hearing from Ferguson. While the latter hasn't been announced when this post was published, rappers did find other things to be outraged about. They include the Knicks, Eminem doing what he has been doing for decades and, in Gunplay's case, Timbaland.
Durant Says Reporter's On Molly & J.R. Smith Insults NY Reporter Jul 16, 2013 at 05:54pm 11,466 Views
The temperatures rising during the summer and so are tempers as both Kevin Durant and J.R.
In front of a crowded Metlife Stadium, Hot 97's Summer Jam (main stage) lineup featured Rick Ross, Tyga, Nas, Meek Mill, Slaughterhouse, French Montana, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Young Jeezy, J. Cole, Wale, Waka Flocka and Maino, with special appearances from Lauryn Hill, Raekwon, Method Man, Ne-Yo and Mase.
This week we see one new entry below, belonging to October's Very Own's PARTYNEXTDOOR. The r'n'b singer is relatively new, having released his first official mixtape PARTYNEXTDOOR just last summer. Nonetheless, he's already developed quite the loyal following, undoubtedly due (in part) to his affiliation with Drizzy.
We're still awaiting the albums of both Iggy Azalea and Future to enter the charts, but this week we've got two new entries coming from August Alsina's Testimony and Dizzy Wright's State Of Mind EP.
Last week we questioned the grip of Will.i.am's influence on the mainstream, with his solo effort, #willpower, moving less than 30k opening week. We could also blame this on the ever-waning sales of albums in general. This week, we get LL Cool J's Authentic album as a new entry in Charts Don't Lie.
Last year J.R. Smith was put on blast after a screenshot of a direct message he sent to a female fan was put online. The Knicks swing man asked her if she "wanted the pipe," to which she politely declined.
As we do every week, we provide you with several overlooked tracks that appeared on the site this past week in Underrated Audio. The records on here didn't quite hit as many views as we thought they deserved, so we're giving them a second look. Check out the five selections of the week in the gallery above.
A story has been circulating that LeBron James’ mother, Gloria, is dating a Miami-area rapper named Lambo. The reason it has so many people talking is because of the age difference of the two. Gloria is 44 years old, while her beau is just a few years older than LeBron at 31. Lambo has been posting various pictures of him and Gloria being close, and even hanging out with LBJ and the kids.
The Toronto Raptors are undergoing a culture overhaul with their franchise. They brought in a new GM, Masai Ujiri, whose first order of business was trading Andrea Bargnani, who was an albatross of sorts of the Bryan Colangelo helmed era.
Have you ever scrolled through Instagram and instantly bursted into uncontrollable laughter? Raised your eyebrow? Scratched your head? Instantly smiled? Thought, "Damn. That's dope."? Stared at your phone? Did an instant repost? HNHH is sure you've answered yes to at least one of those questions. Hence our new feature.
Reports came out yesterday that during Brandon Jennings' birthday party at Lure night club he and rapper The Game got into an altercation over using the DJ's mic and Jennings was punched in the face. The new Pistons point guard posted on Twitter yesterday that he was indeed hit, but calls out the Compton rapper for his "sucker punch" and posted a photo to show his face is still fine.
Dom Kennedy is following up his acclaimed (and free) Yellow Album with Get Home Safely, an iTunes project dropping October 15th. Dom's let go the artwork and tracklist, and just last week he let go the track "Dominic" off the LP as well as a "South Central Love" visual, but aside from that, he's been keeping the records on lock.
